GENERAL POSITIONING

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Prague re-opened in June 2019 as an unrated hotel, with facilities to support business meetings and leisure guests who wish to use the hotel as a base to explore the city.

The international Vaclav Havel Ruzyne airport is 30 minutes drive by car and metro station Karlovo namesti is a 5-minute walk away.

The hotel provides 160 renovated rooms split into three categories: Standard and Superior rooms, which are the hotel‘s basic category level (x109), Premium rooms (x18) and suites (x35).

The hotel has 8 meeting rooms, most with natural daylight, including the largest, AUTHENTIC which can accommodate 120 delegates in classroom style.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Prague offers a fitness centre which is not visible to meeting delegates however, there is no pool or spa facilities.

Since re-opening the hotel has received a number of enquiries and confirmations for healthcare meetings including those involving HCPs.

 

SALES AND MARKETING

The hotels website follows the Radisson Blu brand template which presents a multi-purpose venue that supports both leisure guests and business meetings, with images accurately showing the décor and character that supports the meeting offer and delivers a business hotel with some nice touches that give a boutique feel.

Sales & Marketing collaterals are aligned with Radisson Meetings brand supported by the Radisson Meetings Experience product providing three key service commitments for Business guests – Personal, Professional and Memorable.

The hotel uses social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, where pictures of venue, seasonal menu and leisure-based posts are reflected.

The Radisson Blu brand standard focusses on business clientele and does not align towards offering luxury services.

 

LOCATION AND SETTING

Prague, Czech Republic is positioned in central Europe so flights from other European cities are time convenient. The city centre is just 30 minutes by taxi away from the airport.

Set in the historical building from 1898, the entire hotel was completely renovated in 2019. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Prague provides modern and contemporary style in keeping with the Radisson Blu brand standard whilst respecting the need to retain some historic features such as the floor tiles and hallway ceilings.

Hotel consists of four connected buildings with one main entrance leading to a central lobby. Its high ceilings allow for natural daylight to come through giving the lobby a spacious and fresh feeling.

The venue is located on Zitna main road surrounded by residential buildings and commercial stores and local restaurants but is not in view of any of Prague’s historic and tourist sites.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Prague is located at the edge of city centre, 15 minutes walk from the historic Old Town so away from the main tourist spots that may cause a distraction for meeting delegates.

Prague´s main train station is a 15 minutes walk and the nearest metro station, Karlovo namesti is 2 minutes away. Prague Congress centre is reachable in 20 minutes with public transportation or in 9 minutes by taxi.

The Charles Square Hospital and First Faculty of Medicine by Charles University are both close by and the hotel receives enquiries from both organisations.

The hotel is accessible via bus for drop off and pick up however, long-term parking is not available.

For delegates driving the hotel offers limited chargeable valet parking and for meeting delegates, bookings can be made.

 

FIT FOR PURPOSE

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Prague is a business hotel whose main focus is towards residential meetings including Investigatory meetings, Advisory boards to Product training as the hotel consists of 160 guestrooms with a catering capacity for 150 attendees maximum, which guarantees exclusivity of the entire hotel. However, for meetings of over 90 delegates, all conference rooms and space can be offered exclusively as well.

The Restaurant provides a place for having breakfast, lunch and dinner and can be closed for privatised catering for larger events but for dinner meetings, a meeting room is required.

The Bar is located on the ground floor and is not visible from public areas. It provides a relaxed area offering the same food menu as The Restaurant.

Radisson Blu developed Radisson Meetings with Brilliant Basics of AV technology – such as a barco clickshare tool, USB hubs or high-speed Wi-Fi for all attendees. The hotel uses digital and wayfinding stands which are fully customizable to support necessary confidentiality of healthcare meetings.

The hotel provides Healthcare dinner packages that align to the European and Czech meal cap limit of €60 / 1500 CZK including 30 mins drink reception, dinner buffet with ½ bottle of wine and water, tax and service.

 

FACILITIES

From the street level entrance, a reception and hospitality desk is located to the left overlooking the open plan restaurant to the right.

Electronic meeting room navigation panels are placed in the lobby and can be used as a signage, if confidentiality allows and clients request this visibility.

Continuing through the lobby are the meeting rooms.

Meetings: The Radisson Blu Hotel, Prague offers a total of 8 meeting rooms in a conference area located on the ground floor in a separate wing so not accessible to non-meeting guests.

The largest, the AUTHENTIC meeting room, can be used as one meeting room for up to 120 in classroom or split into three breakouts of quite similar size and capacity. The AUTHENTIC has its own foyer and catering area so can be self-contained.

Other meeting rooms are located nearby except for UNIQUE which is located on second floor and is suitable for more confidential meeting types as it is hidden from public hotel spaces and seats up to 24 persons in classroom style.

The ICONIC meeting room, can also be used as one room or split to offer two breakouts. ICONIC 1 fits 40 in a classroom set up and ICONIC 2 fits 18.

The third largest meeting room INSPIRING fits 54 in a classroom set up.

For high level boardroom meetings the STYLISH room has a high ceiling and faces the Zitna street. This meeting room has currently a stable boardroom set up for 12 pax.

If more breakouts or private meetings are required, hotel bedrooms can be converted into additional boardroom space.

All rooms provide natural daylight, except meeting room ICONIC but with modern furniture, styling and white walls, all rooms present a light feel and positive atmosphere for meetings.

Advanced Audio Visual technology is inbuilt to each individual meeting room and a lectern is available that can be lit in company colours.

Radisson Meetings are involved in a number of CSR projects including carbon neutral and green meetings and further details can be provided on request. Whilst not provided to be healthcare focussed, it underlines the hotels commitment to responsible meetings.

Bedrooms: The hotel consists of four adjoined buildings formed into a square providing 160 renovated rooms across 8 floors split into three categories: 109 Standard and Superior room types, which is the hotels basic category level, 18 Premium rooms and 35 suites. Views are either of the street or courtyard with some upgraded rooms located on upper floors having a city view.

Rooms can be described as business executive and do not have any luxury touches. Each room carries modern décor inspired by elegant and contemporary design expressed with navy & grey tones and materials such as wood and marble. Standard / Superior rooms are approximately 25 sq m and are equipped with air conditioning, Wi- Fi, flat screen TV, safe, minibar, tea and coffee facilities, and ironing set. Among bathroom amenities belong hair dryer and branded Radisson Blu toiletries.

Guest rooms in the Suites category are larger with additonal amenities such as Nespresso machine, extended bathroom kit and turn down service and in our opinion, unlikely to be considered appropriate for the allocation to HCPs.

There is no executive floor or member lounge.

Restaurant: The simply titled "The Restaurant“ is located on ground floor and serves international cuisine with a Czech influence and is open for guest breakfast, lunch and dinner. For meetings and events the hotel can reserve this space for meeting delegates on exclusive basis, subject to availability.

The Restaurant consists of a main part and two adjoining smaller rooms with capacity 100 guests. For larger events these rooms can be joined to Foyer 1 to allow for the privatisation for 130 pax maximum. For fully private dinner meetings, a meeting room is required.

The interior is equipped with muted and organic colours with copper accessories and dark flooring supporting permanent buffet stations with an integrated live cooking station.

Bar: The Bar is located at the entrance and overlooks the street.  It consists of two areas, both with high ceilings and it can serve as an area for informal meetings.

Leisure: Hotel offers a well equipped, fitness centre open 24/7 and located on -1 floor and accessed by a guest card. There is no pool and spa treatments are not available.

 

SERVICE

The hotel provides bellman services to assist guests with luggage, but the venue does not attempt to present luxury impressions by the service or a guest to staff ratio.

The service levels can be considered as consistent with a venue suitable for healthcare meetings and events.

A complimentary Wi- Fi connection is accessible throughout the hotel. No login is required to access the Wi-Fi, also a dedicated code can be set for meeting delegates only.

The Radisson Rewards program offers meetings and professionals Points for each booking which leads to complimentary hotel stays and upgrades - this is consistent to other hotel brands and should not be a deciding factor when booking this hotel for

Compliance Hotspot

This venue is in a destination that has a strong offering for both business and leisure visitors. As a result, people's perceptions of the venue may differ depending on how they use the location for meetings. This venue is located close to a number of local tourist attractions. These, in our opinion, have no bearing on the venue's meeting proposition, as there is a clear separation between the hotel site and that of the attractions.
