General Overview
The QEII Centre is a purpose-built conference and events facility located in Westminster, London. It is not a hotel and does not offer leisure services or guest accommodation. Its operations are exclusively focused on hosting business events, including conferences, exhibitions, meetings, and corporate gatherings. Location
The QEII Centre is situated in a central commercial and governmental district, and benefits from its Westminster location, with access to public transport hubs, including Westminster, St James’s Park, and Victoria Underground stations, all within walking distance. Mainline rail stations such as Waterloo, Victoria, and Charing Cross are also nearby. The venue does not offer on-site parking; however, Q-Park Westminster and Abingdon Street Car Park are within walking distance. Coach drop-off is available directly outside the Centre, with nearby parking along Millbank, subject to local regulations.
Design
Externally, the QEII Centre features a modernist architectural design incorporating concrete and glass. Originally constructed in the 1980s, the building has undergone periodic refurbishments to maintain a professional, business-oriented appearance. Internally, the venue adopts a contemporary design with neutral tones and modern furnishings. The layout supports discretion and privacy, and meeting spaces are located across multiple floors, facilitating isolated and exclusive use as needed.
Meeting Spaces
The venue comprises 32 meeting rooms spread across seven floors. Key meeting areas include the Fleming and Whittle rooms (3rd floor, combined capacity of up to 1300 in theatre style), the Churchill room (ground floor), and the Mountbatten room (6th floor). Other meeting spaces are distributed across the 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th floors. The Britten room is also located on the 3rd floor alongside the largest space. The venue supports multiple configurations, including boardroom-style layouts and networking zones. Facilities include state-of-the-art AV and digital infrastructure. Bedrooms
The QEII Centre does not provide accommodation on-site. However, it partners with healthcare specialist agency BCD to support delegate accommodation requirements through nearby hotel arrangements.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
Catering services are provided by in-house caterers QEII Taste and can be delivered in various areas of the venue. The Centre does not have a formal sit-down restaurant but offers flexible catering solutions tailored to events, including private dining options through meeting room use. There are no named public lounges or bars with designated private hire capabilities, and no awards were noted.
Experience
The QEII Centre has extensive experience hosting healthcare-related meetings, including large conferences, small meetings, and awards dinners. While it does not maintain MSAs with healthcare agencies or partner with local science parks or medical institutions, it regularly supports corporate and life science sector events.
Fitness
There are no fitness or leisure facilities on-site. The venue does not promote itself as a wellness or spa destination and does not offer spa treatments or any related services.
