General Overview

Stockholmsmässan is one of the largest Exhibition and Congress Centre venues  in Northern Europe, hosting hundreds of national and international events every year. 

The venue is owned by the City of Stockholm and aligns itself with the city’s vision for sustainability, encompassing climate, innovation, and social responsibility.

Location 

The venue is situated a 9-minute train ride from the City Center in a residential/business park area of the city

For delegates driving there are 3000 parking spaces including 24 charging stations for e-cars. The parking is managed by Stockholm Stads Parkering AB.

Coaches can drop off and park at a designated parking area for coaches.

Design

Built and developed between 1971-2016 the building can be described as modern functional with an exterior characterized by its modern and functional design.

The building features sleek lines and a contemporary aesthetic, with large expanses of glass that allow natural light to illuminate the interior spaces. The facade is often described as minimalist, with clean angles and geometric shapes contributing to its modern appearance. Overall, the exterior of Stockholmsmässan is a reflection of its purpose as a modern and versatile venue.

The interior of Stockholmsmässan is characterized by its spacious and versatile layout, designed to accommodate a wide range of events and exhibitions. Upon entering the venue, visitors are greeted by a modern and open atrium area that serves as a central hub for the various exhibition halls and conference rooms. Overall, the interior of Stockholmsmässan is designed to provide a functional and welcoming environment for exhibitors, attendees, and event organizers alike, with a focus on versatility, comfort, and modern amenities.

Meeting Space

Stockholmsmässan has 76 different meeting rooms, most of which are on the ground floor. The venue also offers 4 permanent auditoriums seating 200, 300, 500 and 2000.

The maximum capacity in permanent rooms is 3010. However, plenary rooms can seat up to 9 500 guests and they can host congresses for up to 30 000 delegates.

There is also 70,000 m2 of exhibit space divided into three large halls and foyers suitable for all kinds of events, exhibitions, poster board setups, etc.

Due to the excellent layout of the building, they can easily create a compact event area with superb accessibility for all participants and easy access to all rooms and halls.

The venue has three main entrances that can be used individually, for larger numbers of participants the Main Entrance and the Entrance Hall is always available.

Several parts can be privatised and made exclusive. It depends on the size of the gathering/conference, and what areas are needed to accommodate the meeting.

Bedrooms

The venue does not have any bedrooms however, the adjacent hotel, Scandic Talk Hotel, offers 248 rooms

Experience

The venue has played host to major healthcare congresses, for example: EHA 2018, ECTRIMS 2019, EASD 2022, ECIO 2023, INSAR 2023, ECCO 2024, ECE 2024, ERA 2024, BIO-Europe 2024

They support and collaborate with Stockholm Business Region in their collaboration with hospitals, universities, and research institutes (including healthcare and Life science companies) to develop Stockholm as an attractive destination for academic meetings.

This is a multipurpose venue that hosts conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and other pay-to-enter leisure entertainment events. This will be reflected in sales and marketing messaging and in our opinion should not distract bookers looking to use the venue for healthcare meetings and events.
