General Overview

Originally built to host the meetings of the European Council of Ministers who block out the venue in April, June, and October, the European Convention Center Luxembourg (ECCL) offers many meeting and convention rooms across 2 buildings and is suitable for conferences between 100 and 800 delegates.

Location

The ECCL is centrally located in the business and financial district of Luxembourg City, with easy access to the city center and with free public transport system. The closest tram station is a 5-minute walk and by taxi, Luxembourg Airport (7 km) is 20 minutes away. For delegates driving, ECCL is 5 minutes from the A1 motorway and 450 public car park spaces are within walking distance.

Being central Europe, Luxembourg City is linked to the major European cities by an extensive motorway network, regular and fast train routes, and a far-reaching and wide range of international destinations from Luxembourg International Airport such as Frankfurt, Munich, Brussels, Amsterdam, Paris, London, Zurich, Rome, Madrid, etc

The ECCL is the centerpiece of the Convention Park Luxembourg, which offers within walking distance 5 hotels totalling 785 rooms, additional meeting and reception areas, bars and restaurants, 2 cultural institutions, and shopping facilities.

Design

The building architecture is modern with a large glass front surrounding the foyers. The meeting rooms come with different styles and atmospheres, from historical ambiance to simple, contemporary design.

Meeting Space

Spread over 2 buildings the ECCL boasts, within the main building, 2 large plenary rooms for up to 800 delegates, supported by up to 3,600 m2 of bright and modern foyers, and 11 conference rooms with capacities that vary between 35 and 380 delegates, 30 breakout rooms for 20 to 70 

delegates as well as a digital in-house studio. Plus, in the second building, the Hemicycle, an amphitheater for 646 delegates. It is possible to use either the entire building or a combination of rooms. The 2 buildings offer in total 4 different entrances allowing multiple groups to host their meeting at the venue at the same time.

Most rooms are equipped with a sound system, microphones, videoconference systems, translation booths, projectors, and screens as well as complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi internet connection.

An exclusive catering service is available on-site to meet all requirements with personalised and professional high-quality meals.

For additional support, the venue can provide a list of preferred suppliers specialising in audiovisual, exhibition stand builds, signage and decoration although organizers are able to bring their own.

Experience

The ECCL is a venue for business and has hosted some international conferences organised by the healthcare industry, such as association/society congresses. Including ISMA in 2017 and EUROPAEM & ISBER in 2018 plus the 5th International Congress on the Meniscus in 2022

Being a small city, the venue is close to 2 cultural institutions, MUDAM – Museum of Modern Art and the Philharmonie (concert hall)

This is a multipurpose venue that hosts conferences, exhibitions, concerts, and other pay-to-enter leisure entertainment events. This will be reflected in sales and marketing messaging and in our opinion should not distract bookers looking to use the venue for healthcare meetings and events.
