General Overview:
The Hilton Glasgow is a business and conference hotel located in Glasgow City Centre. Recently fully renovated the property contains 14 meeting rooms and 1 ballroom, with plenty of opportunity for both small meetings and large multi-hundred-person events.
Location:
Centrally located, the Hilton Glasgow hotel overlooks the Clyde River with easy access to City Centre and the Scottish Event Campus (SEC). The Hilton Glasgow is a few minutes’ walk from 3 train stations and 15 minutes drive from Glasgow International Airport. Additionally, the Edinburgh International Airport is also accessible by bus or a 40-minute drive. The Hilton Glasgow is located next to the M8 motorway creating easy access to the south and east ends of the city.
Design:
The design style of the Hilton Glasgow is contemporary and influenced by the Glasgow style, a distinctive art nouveau style. This soft style lends itself to light colours and soft shapes, which provide a calming and relaxing atmosphere. The public areas, including the lobby, bar and tea lounge incorporate natural themes creating a welcoming and warm environment. In total, the Hilton Glasgow is 20 floors tall which includes levels dedicated to event space and levels dedicated to guest bedrooms.
Bedrooms:
There are 320 rooms across 15 bedroom floors, all rooms have the same styling with the exception of our Deluxe and Executive which are located on floors 16 and up. All rooms come with an iron/ironing board, complimentary still and sparkling water, a coffee station with a water kettle and complimentary Wi-Fi. Our Deluxe and Executive rooms have similar styling to standard rooms but have different finishes in the bedroom and bathroom. In addition, the Deluxe room comes with bath robes/slippers and a Nespresso coffee bar. The executive room offers additional access to an executive lounge.
Restaurant:
On the property, there is one bar/restaurant and a dedicated breakfast room. The dedicated breakfast room serves tea/coffee, toast and a full Scottish buffet.
The bar/restaurant, the Whiskey Mist, has a combination of small bites and main course items, as well as craft cocktails and local beers on tap.
Meeting space:
There are two dedicated floors for event/meeting space. The grand ballroom is located on level 3 and is the second biggest in Scotland. The grand ballroom offers animated wallpaper, LED lighting, a dedicated/private entrance, a freight lift, a pre-event area, dedicated toilets, a dedicated cloakroom and a dedicated bar. On the same floor, there are 8 other meeting spaces, three of which can be combined into one space. The Riverside Suite is the second largest meeting space on the property, which includes an outdoor terrace. On both floors with meeting space, there are dedicated coffee/tea and snack breakrooms which are accessible during meeting breaks. All meeting spaces have natural daylight, air conditioning, a high standard of audio-visual equipment, Wi-Fi and complimentary delegate stationary.
Fitness:
On the property, there is a Livingwell Health Club which has a gym with the latest cardiovascular equipment and free/static weights. Additionally, there is a 15m swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. When staying overnight the gym is complimentary, however, the wet facilities are chargeable. The Livingwell Health Club is located one floor below our main lobby and out of view from the main public spaces.
Whilst the hotel does have a Health and Fitness Club on site advance booking is required for the pool and wet facilities and is payable for limited time slots. The gym however is freely available to any guest throughout the day.
This Wellness Centre does include a small spa operated by a partner company which is not stipulated on the hotel’s website. All treatments must be booked in advance and are payable. Spa packages are available but booked via a separate partner company website and not advertised as part of the hotel’s offers or available from their homepage.
Whilst some may consider the Spa to be outside of compliance guidelines in our opinion the hotel is advertised, and operates as, a business hotel. Due to its location and accessibility to transport networks this is a practical business property for multiple meeting types.
