Compliance Summary
General Overview:
The 4-star Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport is a venue for business, utilising its airport location and meeting space to position predominantly for the business market.
Location:
The Park Plaza Amsterdam Airport is located in a business park in the industrial area of Lijnden, 10 minutes’ drive from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport or 30-minute drive from Amsterdam city centre.
The city centre is easily accessible by car being 30 minutes away, allowing easy access to other parts of the city with highways A4 and A9 nearby linking Lijnden to the cities of Haarlem and Hoofsddorp. The hotel has 250 parking spaces for meeting attendees wishing to drive.
Design:
Styling throughout the property is contemporary with no luxury touches and in line with a business-level 4-star property. Delegates enter the mainly glass and concrete-fronted building from the only ground floor entrance and into an open, bright and modern lobby area with floor-to-ceiling windows, light grey floor tiles and a seating area with brown sofas.
Meetings:
20 flexible and naturally lit meeting rooms are split across three floors in a dedicated conference centre. The ground floor hosts the largest meeting room for up to 700 delegates in a theatre-style set-up when combining Polder 1, 2 and 3 rooms. The Field meeting rooms on the first floor are accessed via a dedicated lift or staircase, with 10 individual meeting rooms ideal for smaller boardroom events or breakouts ranging from 16 to 24 for a boardroom set up. The second floor has six Sky meeting rooms with the largest, Sky 3, hosting 210 theatre-style. Similar to the Field and Polder rooms, this space can be configured to suit a host of events such as product launches or patient groups particularly where there are higher compliance and perceived risk healthcare meetings due to the privacy and facilities available.
Exclusive use of meeting floors or all meeting spaces. Dining can be within the conference centre or in the hotel’s main restaurants on the ground floor for up to 300 guests.
Bedrooms:
342 guestrooms are split into two categories; Superior (290) and Executive (52) and are located over 6 floors via one set of lifts to the left of the Reception and can be accessed using the room key card only enhancing security levels.
Superior rooms are Park Plaza’s “standard” rooms and have views across the Lijnden business district and greenfield site. Contemporary styled rooms come with air conditioning, laptop-safe free Wi-Fi, coffee and tea-making facilities, a work desk, smart TV and a bathroom with shower and Park Plaza standard Elemis toiletries. Rooms have dark wood-effect flooring, red soft furnishings, and white and grey walls.
Restaurant:
Located on the ground floor behind the bar, Romeo overlooks the hotel’s lake and greenfield land and is the hotel's main restaurant and is the location for guest buffet breakfast for 130.
The “Victor” restaurant is also located on the Ground floor and is available for a la carte lunch and dinner dining with an international menu, capable of accommodating 50 guests.
Experience
The hotel has experience in holding corporate healthcare company internal sales and training meetings, product launches, as well as meeting organised by patient groups.
The hotel is near to teaching medical centres: the Amsterdam Medical Centre (AMC) and VU University Medical Centre, plus 11 other hospitals which vary in size and specialism.
Fitness:
Overnight guests of the hotel have complimentary access to the fitness gym which is located on the ground floor with bedroom key card access only. The modest gym provides free weights and exercise machines but there is no pool.
Compliance Hotspot
As part of the Radisson Group, their listing for the property and the Google listing advertises the hotel as having a spa and fitness facilities. This is not accurate, the hotel does NOT have a spa but does offer guests a modest size gym with free weights, machines, and a sauna with a steam bath.
As an airport hotel, we do not believe there are any significant compliance concerns related to this hotel.
