General Overview:
Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London is a 4* contemporary and stylish, purpose-built hotel with large multi-functional conference and banqueting facilities. The venue is known for being one of Europe’s leading conference hotels, ideal for residential events of up to 700 guests.
Location:
The venue benefits from the nearby mainline train and London Underground stations at Waterloo and Westminster whilst being accessible within one hour from the city’s major airports i.e. Heathrow, Gatwick, and London City by car or public transport
Design:
Park Plaza Westminster Bridge London is a contemporary and architecturally circular building that opened in 2010. Its interior presents a stylishly designed venue throughout, especially within the public and F&B areas,
The ground floor entrance lobby hosts, a Concierge desk, a Group Check-in desk, illy Caffè, and access to both the meeting spaces and the hotel's main reception, restaurants, and bars.
Restaurant:
Ichi Sushi & Sashimi Bar and Brasserie Joel on the first floor are modern and contemporary and actively used by the public, and the latter is the location for guest to take breakfast and lunch,
Bedrooms:
There are 1019 bedrooms offering three main categories – Superior, Studio, and Suites, which vary in size and amenities.
Meeting Space:
There are a total of 32 meeting rooms including one of London’s largest pillar-free Ballrooms.
The hotel offers layered conference facilities, ensuring privacy and adaptability based on requirements.
The largest room, the Westminster Ballroom on Level -3 can accommodate up to 1500 delegates but the optimum size of the meeting including catering and bedrooms would be 550 – 700 guests. There are many flexible options for smaller meetings and/or syndicate rooms including the Plaza Suites – 13 individual suites of which 10 have removable walls. The Park Suites on the ground floor offer an additional seven rooms as well as 11 City Boardrooms located on each bedroom floor.
For larger events, bedrooms can be hosted by sister property Park Plaza County Hall which is opposite.
Experience:
Being a short walk to Guys & St Thomas’ Hospitals the hotel is used regularly for meetings that have links to the hospital.
Fitness:
Guests have access to the Mandara Spa located on Level -4 which offers a comprehensive fitness/gym studio and pool.
The Brasserie Joel Restaurant is advertised as 'Award Winning' however, the award relates to two AA Rosettes (out of a possible 5) and is a recognition of the quality and skill, rather than that of a ‘fine dining' experience.
Overnight guests have access to the Mandara Spa (a Park Plaza brand) and fitness gym located on Level -4 and is therefore not visible from the main communal areas of the hotel. There is a small pool with a sauna and steam room, and pre-booked treatments are available but chargeable.
The hotel uses doormen to meet and greet/assist with luggage/information at the main entrance however, there is little else to show that the venue attempts to use service and a guest-to-staff ratio to leverage luxury or deluxe impressions.
