Compliance Summary
General Overview
Park Regis Birmingham is a business-focused hotel situated on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre. The venue offers comprehensive meeting and event (M&E) facilities, accounting for 65–70% of its overall hotel revenue, including M&E-linked bedroom use. It serves both the business and healthcare event markets with a focus on residential and multi-room event configurations.
Location
Park Regis Birmingham is located on the outskirts of Birmingham city centre within a commercial district. The immediate environment is primarily urban, consisting of business and residential buildings rather than tourist attractions. Public transport is highly accessible, with a tram stop directly outside the venue and major rail connections nearby. Birmingham New Street Station is approximately a 15-minute walk or 5-minute tram ride from the hotel. Birmingham Airport can be reached within 30 minutes by taxi or public transport. Onsite parking is available with 153 spaces and an additional 400 overflow spaces. There are also four coach bays and six EV charging points. Coach access is facilitated via a turn circle directly in front of the hotel.
Design
Externally, Park Regis Birmingham features a modern architectural style dominated by glass and concrete. Internally, it continues this modern contemporary aesthetic with large windows and a bright, open design across public areas, meeting rooms, and guest bedrooms. The design supports compliant healthcare event hosting, with two entire floors dedicated to meeting spaces, discrete access via a private M&E entrance, and spatial separation from public guest areas.
Meeting Spaces
The venue comprises a total of 11 meeting rooms across four floors. Levels 15 and 16 serve as dedicated conference areas, while the remaining meeting rooms are on mixed-use floors that also include bedrooms and are not used for healthcare events. The largest meeting space, the Sky Gallery on Level 16, accommodates up to 300 delegates in theatre style and 220 in cabaret style. Also on Level 16 is the Sky Loft, suitable for up to 90 theatre style. Level 15 includes five breakout rooms and is connected via an internal staircase, allowing for integrated yet private event setups. AV equipment is available throughout, and configurations support both plenary sessions and smaller breakout discussions.
Bedrooms
There are 253 bedrooms across nine floors, designated as Deluxe Rooms, Executive Rooms, Junior Suites, and one Presidential Suite. Standard rooms are equipped with essential amenities for business travellers, including work desks, laptop-sized safes, tea and coffee facilities, complimentary Wi-Fi, and ironing boards. Upgraded rooms offer additional features such as mini-fridges, bathrobes, and Nespresso machines. These premium features are not standard and can be avoided for compliance purposes.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
The 1565 Bar & Restaurant, situated on Level 4, accommodates up to 120 guests and operates for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While semi-private arrangements are available, full privacy is not guaranteed; therefore, meeting rooms are recommended for private dining. Our catering options are extensive and carefully considered, featuring seasonal British menus alongside Indian and Caribbean banqueting, as well as a World Food buffet. The 1565 Bar can host up to 300 guests for standing receptions and is available for private hire.
Experience
Park Regis Birmingham is highly experienced in the healthcare meetings sector, frequently hosting events such as internal meetings, HCP engagements, drug launches, and sales conferences. The venue’s ability to privatise entire floors enhances compliance and confidentiality. Existing MSAs with healthcare agencies indicate an established reputation in the sector. The combination of meeting space exclusivity and dedicated support aligns well with the needs of the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
Fitness
The hotel features a gym facility equipped with both cardio machines and free weights. This fitness centre is easily accessible to hotel guests and is located within the main building. While spa services exist, they are provided offsite by a third party with a separate entrance. The venue does not market itself as a spa or wellness destination and does not promote additional leisure facilities.
Compliance Hotspot
Some descriptions of the property use the word ‘luxury’ however, the Park Regis is an official 4-star hotel and can be considered as a venue for business. The hotel advertises a spa, but this is externally managed, has its own external entrance and is not located near the meeting spaces or bedrooms.
Panoramic views of the Birmingham city skyline are advertised and only available from meeting floors.
The 1565 serve Starbucks branded coffee but this is not a Starbucks outlet.
The venue has been awarded a Greengate Silver Award for its hospitality services.
