General Overview:
Bilderberg Kasteel Vaalsbroek is a four-star business hotel with a significant amount of hotel rooms and meeting spaces to support business and leisure groups as it is secluded with natural surroundings and without distractions from any tourist and leisure sights.
Location:
The hotel is in the Limburgian region, close to the Three border point, 30 minutes from Maastricht. The border with Belgium and Germany is nearby with the city of Aachen 15 minutes away. Near the hotel is a bus station with direct connections to the central train stations of Maastricht and Aachen. Aachen central station has a high-speed train connection to Brussels, Dusseldorf, and Paris via Thalys and an ICE for a direct connection to London. International Airports Dusseldorf, Cologne and Brussels are within 80 minutes’ drive from the hotel. For delegates driving the hotel offers 350 complimentary private parking spaces.
Design:
Bilderberg Kasteel Vaalsbroek consists of three main buildings, located on our 18ha property. The first building is the castle, which holds the meeting and event space, and the buffet/breakfast restaurant ‘de Kruidentuin’ and castle reception. The two other buildings are bedroom wings, connected via a glass bridge, in which all 130 double hotel rooms are located as well as our bistro and restaurant and hotel reception.
The design style of hotel (three floors high) is modern contemporary with modest shades of blue and grey. The castle presents a balance of classical historic rooms and modern contemporary.
The hotel reception is in the middle building (the first hotel wing) with 50 bedrooms, hotel lounge, ‘in de oude watermolen’ restaurant and bistro with terrace overlooking the lake. The restaurant has two semi-private areas, which can be rented exclusively for groups up to 40 persons each per area.
In the second hotel wing are 80 bedrooms and the spa and wellness centre with swimming pool, sauna, and fitness area, accessible exclusively for hotel guests however, treatments are chargeable. Also, two break out rooms are situated in this building for 45 persons.
Bedrooms:
Bedrooms types include 53 comfort rooms, 41 deluxe rooms, 2 disabled rooms, 4 executive rooms, plus suites and family rooms and all rooms provide complimentary business amenities: wi-fi, work desk, safe, free coffee/tea amenities.
Meeting Space:
The ‘castle’ is located separate from the hotel wings at 300 meters walking distance and holds 20 naturally lit meeting rooms located across three different floors. The largest meeting room in the castle is 330m2 and host up to 300 persons in theatre style. It can also be divided into 2 separate rooms using a soundproof wall. This meeting room has a separate entrance, exclusive business/coffee lounge and private terrace and sanitary facilities.
The second largest meeting room on the ground floor can host up to 120 in theatre style. This meeting room also has a separate entrance, an exclusive business/coffee lounge, and private terrace and sanitary facilities.
Restaurant:
The buffet/breakfast restaurant ‘de Kruidentuin’ is located on the ground floor of the castle. All other meeting/break-out rooms are located on the first and second floor of the castle. When privacy is needed for dinner to discuss private information, we can offer private dining instead of a dinner in the restaurant.
Experience:
The hotel is aware of the healthcare sector requirements and supports healthcare-related meetings, such as advisory boards, investigator meetings, and product trainings. In the surroundings of the hotel multiple healthcare and life science-related businesses and hospitals book the venue for internal/external meetings/trainings but also congresses.
The hotel is officially 4-star however, some marketing messages from the hotel is at higher-end level for attracting for leisure and individual guests. There are no hotel rooms located in the castle, the hotel rooms are in separate buildings on our premises.
The Spa and wellness centre is located at the rear end of the wing on the ground floor and away from meeting rooms. Treatments are not included and need to be booked/paid for separately.
