The Radisson Blu Bloomsbury Street is an easily accessible central London hotel located on Bloomsbury Street. The closest underground tube station is Tottenham Court Road, a mere 5 minutes walk from the venue, as well as a 15 minutes taxi ride from London St Pancras, Eurostar, Kings Cross, Euston, and Marylebone stations. Tottenham Court Road tube station is on the Charring Cross branch of the Northern Line and the Central Line.
The Radisson Blu Bloomsbury Street sits within a 19th-century red brick building, with a contemporary remodelled entrance. The hotel completed a full refurbishment in 2009 which transformed the venue into a contemporary hotel. Due to its location, the majority of residents staying throughout the week are business travellers, however at weekends this changes to leisure visitors.
Bloomsbury is home to the University of London's central bodies and departments, and the numerous healthcare institutions located in Bloomsbury include the British Medical Association, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, University College Hospital, and the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, whilst the Royal College of Physicians, The Wellcome Collection and Harley Street are a 20 minutes walk away.
The hotel has 174 bedrooms and 5 meeting rooms; the largest being the Folio Suite on the Ground Floor and accommodates up to 120 cabaret/250 theatre style, with ample daylight and in-built AV facilities.
All 5 meeting rooms are located on the ground and lower ground floors. The meeting rooms vary in size with the largest the Folio Suite accommodating up to 120 cabaret/250 theatre style.
The Radisson Blu Bloomsbury Street has a total of 174 bedrooms: 36 standard doubles, 25 superior queen and 15 superior twins. 68 king deluxe doubles, 23 business class, and 7 suites. All rooms are air-conditioned, designed for the business traveller and include a safe, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, and hairdryer. All rooms have a fully stocked mini-bar however these can be emptied upon request. All rooms have tea & coffee making facilities. Complimentary bottled water is placed in each room and restocked daily.
The superior and deluxe rooms are slightly larger in size and have additional amenities including bathrobes and slippers, whilst business class and suites include a coffee machine. These rooms can be adapted into standard rooms by removing the extra amenities as the only difference is the slightly larger floor space.
The service levels are consistent with a venue suitable for healthcare meetings and events. The staff-to-guest ratio is that of a business hotel and the service is warm and friendly without being that of a luxury or high-end venue.
There is free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel which was consistent in strength during our visit. A secure login process is required and set up for each event – Wi-Fi is included in the day delegate package.
The hotel's website confirms its 4-star rating but also describes itself as 'luxury' and moments from tourist attractions however, only the British Museum is nearby.
This hotel is primarily a business venue it does not have any spa facilities, however, there is a small fitness room onsite and this is available to residential guests 24 hours a day.
