General Overview 

The Crowne Plaza Utrecht - Central Station is a modern hotel in the heart of Utrecht close to Utrecht Central Station. The hotel opened in January 2022 with 144 comfortable WorkLife rooms and eight spacious and light meeting rooms with catering up to 250 guests.

Location

Located in The Poortgebouw the hotel sits, and has its entrance within the Hoog Catharijne shopping mall.
Crowne Plaza Utrecht is located next to the Utrecht Central train station which is easy to reach via an indoor route via Hoog Catharijne Mall (2 minutes walk). 

Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is only 29 minutes away by direct train connection, with trains departing every 10 minutes. For those travelling by car, public parking (not owned by the hotel) is available under the hotel (P5 - address Daalsesingel). Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the city’s main conference center is a 10-minute walk from the hotel.

Design

The Crowne Plaza Utrecht - Central Station is the first hotel in the Netherlands with the new Crowne Plaza-design concept. The design style of the hotel is modern, of a business standard with light shades and natural materials, and no attempts to provide either a boutique or design-led experience to the overall styling.
The design of the 144 ‘WorkLife’ guest rooms focuses on functionality and comfort and the public areas of the hotel are a combination of a casual and buzzing atmosphere.

Bedrooms

The 144 WorkLife rooms are equipped with a spacious work desk, complimentary Wi-Fi, coffee and tea facilities, a safe, ironing board and iron and a mini fridge. Bathrooms have a walk-in shower and are well-designed with Rituals amenities. All rooms follow a similar colour theme.
 

Meeting Space

The hotel offers 9 modern and bright meeting rooms of which the majority is located in the events wing of the hotel on the third floor, connected by a central foyer. The foyer is used for coffee and lunch breaks and dinners. The largest room offers 400m2 of flexible space that can accommodate up to 250 delegates.

For an informal gathering in a smaller setting,  Crowne Plaza 'The Studio' is the perfect space where new and refreshing ideas come to life.  The fixed Boardroom is equipped with a high-tech built-in camera and sound system for hybrid meetings. All event spaces are located on the third floor of the hotel and some spaces come with a private foyer providing privacy if multiple groups are using the venue at the same time. Décor follows the design style of the other parts of the hotel with a modern but modest design across the 8 meeting rooms.

Restaurant

The 100-seat restaurant is used for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offers an all-American breakfast buffet and all-day dining menu. With plenty of spaces for individuals, small and larger groups. The design follows that of the hotel with a modest, yet attractive style aligned to the business position of the hotel.

Experience

The hotel is healthcare sector aware and supports a wide range of meetings from product training and advisory boards to healthcare conferences. The venue actively supports events from the Utrecht Science Park which includes a range of healthcare companies and medical organisations.

Fitness

The hotel offers residential guests the use of the Fitness Centre which is located on the third floor of the hotel, close to the hotel reception. It offers a range of equipment like elliptical machines, free weights, a stationary bicycle and a treadmill which are 24/7 available. 

The entrance to the hotel is located within the shopping mall Hoog Catharijne.

Although centrally located, the sites of the historical center are 10 minutes walk away.
