De Vere Wokefield Estate

General Overview

The De Vere Wokefield Hotel is a 4-star with a large mix of facilities and services for both the business and leisure markets.

Location 

The hotel is located in the countryside, 8 miles from Reading, and 10 minutes from J11 of the M4, which connects to London's Heathrow Airport in 40 minutes. Junction 5 of the M3 is 20 minutes away.

From Reading Station there are direct rail links to London Paddington, and takes 50 minutes on the new Elizabeth Line.

For delegates driving the hotel offers 350 parking spaces for cars and coaches.

Design

The hotel's Mansion House, where the meeting spaces and bedrooms are, is a Grade II listed building and its exterior is in keeping with the tradition of the building and retain their period features. Wokefield Place, a separate building to the Mansion, is contemporary with high tech meeting space and brings the outside in with plenty of light and plants.

The Mansion House interior features a grand, wooden staircase with chandeliers and ornate, period features. Inside Wokefield Place is a contemporary and is decorated with the use of light and plants.

Meeting Space

The hotel has extensive meeting capabilities and 39 rooms are split across Wokefield Place and the Mansion House - 8 meeting rooms in the Mansion House and the remaining 31 in Wokefield Place.

In the Mansion House all rooms are on thr ground floor and larger spaces include the Terrace Suite

The Wokefield Suite can accommodate 500 in Wokefield Place, with meeting spaces spread across the ground and first floors.

Due to the number and various different sizes of meeting space, the venue is suitable for all kinds of meetings from sales kick off events, product launches, group dinners, and exhibitions.

The hotel can offer exclusivity for meeting areas, on application.

Bedrooms

 In both the Mansion House and Wokefield Place there are 3 bedroom loors, ground, first, second.

Business amenities in standard rooms include a work desk, laptop safe / tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary wi-fi. 

Restaurant

The View is the hotel's main restaurant and is on the first floor. providing Modern British food inspired by French cuisine. It seats 160 people and can be privatised.

Other areas include Benedict’s Bar in Wokefield Place, and 1560 Lounge, Bar & Restaurant in the Mansion House.

Experience

The hotel works with University of Reading, Royal Berkshire Hospital and the NHS, and also hosts meetings ad events from within the healthcare and science industry.

Fitness

The hotel offers guests a fitness gym with free weights and exercise machines.

There is an indoor pool and sauna but no spa facilities, all within Wokefield Place In addition, there is a lrage amount of outdoor space, including an outdoor gym, space for team building activities, an onsite golf course and tennis courts. 

There is no doubt that the hotel has extensive leisure facilities, it is surrounded by a golf-course. There is a pool but there is no spa and treatments are not available. These facilities would not be offered for HCP groups

The Mansion House is a Grade II listed building however, 31 of the 29 meeting rooms are in Wokefeld Place, a separate, modern and contemporart building.
