Compliance Summary

General Overview

The Central Hall Westminster sist within a Methodist Church and is a Grade II listed building. As one of the largest conference and events venus in Central London, 23 varied rooms and spaces accommodate events from intimate functions of up to 60 people to large occasions for up to 2400 people. And the venue hosts over 800 diverse events every year.

Location

This venue sits in the City of Westminster, within the heart of city of London, amongst Government buildings, the QEII conference center and close to the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey.

Being central, Victoria, Waterloo and Charing Cross mainline and underground stations are within a 20-minute walk providing access to London’s City, Heathrow and Gatwick Airports within an hour. Luton and Stansted can also be reached within 90 minutes.

For delegates driving the venue does not provide parking spaces and for groups, drop off and pick up is possible.

Design

The venue was built in 1912 and is designed in a Viennese Baroque style and is of a mainly stone construction with columns on its façade and a dome.

Inside, the styling is of marble, stained glass windows and detailed plasterwork but is minimalist in its function as a public assembly venue.

Meeting Space

The meeting spaces are split across 3 floors. On the ground floor is the Main Foyer, Lecture Hall & Library (the second largest space) and 6 meeting rooms.

On the Second floor are 3 meeting rooms and 4 breakout spaces.

On the third floor is our largest space and heart of the venue, the ‘Great Hall’, with 5 additional meeting rooms on this floor which can be used as additional space or breakout spaces when booking the Great Hall. The Great Hall foyer sits outside which can be used as a bar or breakout area too.

There is a back entrance on level 1 and loading entrance if necessary.

The venue can be used exclusively, on request and regularly hosts conferences, meetings, AGMs, exhibitions, product launches, rehearsals, talks and training.

The venue operates a sensible drinking policy which means there is a 2-drink maximum and no alcoholic beverages can be consumed within the Great Hall.

Bedrooms

As a venue, there are no bedrooms however, there are numerous hotel options ranging from 2 to 5 star within walking distance.

Restaurant

There is a cafe on the lower ground floor and a street cafe on ground level, both are open to the public. Our Cafés are run in partnership with our caterers Green & Fortune, bringing a fresh approach to the food and drink served daily. The venue sits within London’s “Medical Mile” and is within 10 mins walk to St Thomas’s Hospital and Guys & St Thomas, All Saints Hospital. Local Universities include The University of Westminster and The Royal Pharmaceutical Society.

Fitness

As a venue, there are no fitness facilities.

Compliance Hotspot

Central Hall Westminster is known as a methodist church but operates as one of central London's largest conference and events venue and very much business focussed

As a listed building, there is no doubt that the outside presents an impressive facade, but inside there are no overly luxurious fixtures or furniture to give the impression other than one with a business focus.

Being located in central London, numerous public transport connections are close by as are popurlar sites areas but is unlikely to be considered one in its own right.
