General Overview
The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre / Gothia Towers is one of Europe’s largest meeting venues with a capacity for up to 8800 delegates all under one roof
The Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre is suitable for trade shows, exhibitions and larger meetings, and the 4-star Gothia Tower hotel, has nearly 1200 hotel rooms, 60 meeting rooms, 5 public restaurants, and 8 flexible function halls providing the capability for holding large events and congresses.
The flexibility of this complex makes it suitable for smaller meetings and events, and large-format events.
Please note that almost all spaces can be privatized for groups.
Location
The venue is located east of the city centre of Gothenburg, promoted as the world’s most sustainable destination. Click here for information.
The International Landvetter Airport is 20 kilometres away and takes 15 to 20 minutes by car or public transport. The nearest railway station is 5 minutes away.
The Universeum Science Discovery Centre and Museum of World Cultures are nearby and the city main boulevard Avenyn is within a short walking distance.
For delegates driving, there are 250 parking spaces, managed by the venue. There are no coach parking outside the venue, yet they can park around the block about 5 minutes walking distance.
Design
The exterior presents a modern and contemporary office building design with both brick and plastered facade walls and the accommodation floors in glass.
Meeting Space
In total there are 60+ flexible meeting rooms in various sizes, from 2-8800 participants and some of the meeting spaces provided, has a separate and private entrance.
Larger meetings and exhibition space are located on the ground floor, with medium meeting rooms and coffee break stations as well as lunch restaurants on the second floor. On the third floor, are smaller break out rooms.
With this amount of meeting space, it regularly hosts large meetings from political, healthcare, corporate events, congresses as well as public and trade fairs.
Privatisation is always available on request.
Bedrooms
The 4-star Gothia Towers offers 1184 sleeping rooms across three connecting towers with 23, 25 and 29 bedroom floors.
Standard rooms come with work desk, laptop safe, electric kettle, complimentary wi-fi.
Only a limited number of rooms have mini-fridge, bathrobes, coffee machines, but can be removed on request for an additional fee.
Restaurants
The Seasons restaurant is both a breakfast room and a function room that can be privatised for a group. Seasons is located on 2nd floor and can accommodate up to 550 people and is used for guest breakfast, lunch and dinner offering a wide selection of sustainable and seasonal food with local ingredients.
In the congress hall on the 2nd floor 1050 people can dine, 3 public lobby restaurants on the ground floor, from cafés to modern à la carte dining on the 23rd and 25th floor.
Imagine function room on the 29th floor seats 202 people.
Largest function hall on the 1st floor seats 3000 people.
Experience
The venue works with the local healthcare marketplace and has experience in hosting Medical conferences in world health care; Diabetic, Spine, Brain, Stroke, Heart, Dementia etc.
The hotel is healthcare sector aware and supports a wide range of meetings such as advisory boards, investigator meetings and product training.
Fitness
The hotel has a fitness gym for guests with free weights and exercise machines.
For hotel guests using the pool and spa, additional charges apply.
