General Overview
The 4-star Hilton Kensington is a hotel with 601 bedrooms and 10 meeting rooms capable of hosting meetings up to 250 with a mix of facilities and services for the business and leisure markets.
Location
The Hotel is located in a residential area on London’s city centre, next to Holland Park in Zone 2 travel zone. Heathrow Airport is located within 30 min drive straight off M4 motorway.
Central Tube Line and Overground are also located a short walk away at Shepherds Bush station, and Holland Park station is a 7 min walk
London’s main tourist areas are 15 minutes away however, Kensington is home to a historic palace and high-end shopping area.
For delegates driving the hotel provides 72 spaces and for group travel there is one coach bay subject to availability.
Design
The 8-storey building has 3 wings attached to a main building is a modern, contemporary brick construction and this design style is continued inside.
Meeting Space
There are 10 multifunctional meeting rooms with latest in audio visual & video conferencing equipment available, all on the ground floor surrounding a sunlit Atrium.
The Hotel has two main entrances into the Hotel building, one of which is for group arrivals by coaches as it has a separate check-in area.
What meeting types does it suit? Conference, exhibitions, workshops, roadshows, boardroom meetings, corporate events (networking, teambuilding activities, company meetings) & social events with catering
The Christie Suite can be offered exclusively and contains 2 partitions which can split the room into 3 separate meeting spaces). Also the Kensington Suite can be privatised with 1 partition splitting the room into 2 parts.
Bedrooms
The hotels 601 bedrooms are split across the 1st and 7th floors and come with work desk with adjustable lamp and chair, laptop safe / tea & coffee making facilities, complimentary wi-fi, mini refrigerator, hairdryer, Iron/ironing board, LCD, air-conditioning.
For HCP meetings, any mini-fridges, bathrobes and Nespresso machines, can be removed on request.
Restaurant
The hotel’s main restaurant is the West Eleven Restaurant, located on the ground floor, serving English (European with a few Asian dishes) and can be flexible to also offer African , Indian, Middle Eastern menus. It seats 150 seats and can be privatised although for dinner meetings, a meeting room is recommended.
Other public catering areas include the Avenue Bar & Lounge for an A la Carte menu for In-house guests at lunch and dinner.
Experience
The hotel has experience in hosting both internal and external meeting types, including Sales Meetings, Product Launches & Product Trainings
They also work with universities, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies (some are in the area).
Fitness
The hotel has a 24-hour gym provided to guests on the lower ground floor with free weights and exercise machines.
There is no pool or spa, and treatments are not offered.
The hotel is represented on external travel sites that list ‘luxury’ hotels but as a four star hotel.
The hotel’s location in Kensington, may lead some to consider that London’s tourist sites may provide a distraction for HCPs attending a meeting here. In fact these are not in the immediate vicinity and the hotel has the facilities to ensure all aspects of a residential meeting can be managed within the hotel.
