General Overview
The ICC Wales is 50% owned by the Welsh Government and 50% privately owned and as a convention centre meetings and events is their sole your business offering. A 5,000 capacity with a main auditorium for 1,500 and six rooms and 43,00 sqm of pillar free exhibition space.
A Sustainability and Energy Manager support our clients in achieving their sustainable event goals. For example, catering is provided by an in-house team, focussed on using locally sourced ingredients.

Location
Surrounded by extensive woodland the ICC Wales is located a 10-minute drive from Newport city centre and just off the M4 motorway that connects Wales directly to London.
The M4 also connects to the M5 that takes drivers North to Birmingham and Manchester and South towards Exeter. The Airports of Exeter and Cardiff are under 30 minutes away and Heathrow and Birmingham can be reached within 2 hours.
For drivers the venue has 700 underground car parking spaces, leading directly into the venue with an additional 2,000 outdoor spaces on site, managed by the Celtic Manor.
For group travel there are coach spaces available.
Design
The venue opened in 2019 and is a modern building with contemporary exterior.
This is replicated inside with floor to ceiling windows and views of the surrounding woodland.
Meeting Space
The ICC meeting spaces are set over 3 floors.
Floor 1 includes the Main Hall of (4,000 sqm), an Outdoor Plaza,2,500 sqm of outdoor space and an Auditorium of 1,500 tiered seats and built in staging.
Additional meeting room include 2 Boardrooms, 6 Green Rooms, 1 Offices and a Medical room
Floor 2 provides an entrance to the top tier of auditorium and adjoining bar area. Meeting Rooms 1 – 4 provide 153.5 to 875 sqm of meeting space and each can be sectioned off to provide smaller rooms.
There are an additional 3 Boardrooms for up to 26 people, a foyer area with a built-in café
Floor 3 provides a 500 sqm Lounge with living wall.
The convention centre has its own dedicated entrance
The venue is very versatile and ideal for all types of events including conferences, exhibitions, training events and gala dinners.
The venue can be hired exclusively, and there are various areas that have an exclusive feel for smaller events.
Bedrooms
The ICC is a non-residential venue however, Celtic Manor Resort and Manor House are on the same site and there are many other hotels in the area.
Restaurant
The ICC does not have its own restaurant however, catering areas can be set up throughout the venue.
There are also multiple restaurants options available at the Celtic Manor Resort, which is next door to the ICC Wales.
Experience
The ICC has hosted meetings from human to animal healthcare and mainly been centred around research and product demonstrations. Most of these events had exhibition and sponsorship elements.
They have connections into local universities, and local academics have supported with conference content. Several healthcare events incorporate off-site visits to hospitals and centres of excellence.
The ICC set up an academic advisory group and are setting up a healthcare advisory group, which consists of local industry experts and academics. This group supports the venue when bidding for events that fit with the specialisms of the group and can add value to events held at the ICC Wales.
Wales also has an ambassador programme, which is a network of influential private individuals from fields such as academia, medical and business who, whilst leading in their own professional field, dedicate personal time, energy, and enthusiasm to champion Wales as a meeting and events destination.
As a convention centre, the ICC Wales las little in the way of compliance risk however, the venue is regularly supported with accommodaiton requests by Celtic Manor which is on the same site. Celtic Manor is a 5-star resort hotel so for HCP sponsored meetings, more 'appropriate' alternatives are available.
