General Overview
The Grand Malahide is a four-star venue that combines business and leisure services, with a strong focus on meetings and events. Location
Located in a commercial and residential area, The Grand Malahide is near but does not overlook tourist attractions. The venue offers designated coach parking and 300 on-site car spaces managed directly by the hotel. Its location provides efficient access to Dublin city centre and the international airport, making it ideal for delegates travelling both locally and internationally.
Design
The Grand Malahide features a traditional external architectural style, with a primary construction of concrete and plaster. Internally, the hotel presents a contemporary style with historic touches, maintaining a professional yet welcoming environment. Dedicated entrances for both business centres support discretion and privacy, aligning with healthcare meeting standards.
Meeting Spaces
The venue includes two separate business centres. The East Wing houses eight meeting rooms across two floors, with the first-floor main meeting room accommodating up to 400 delegates in theatre style. This wing includes breakout spaces, a dedicated AV room, hospitality suites, and restrooms. The ground floor offers six meeting rooms for 2 to 200 attendees. The West Wing comprises five ground-floor meeting spaces for 2 to 70 attendees, all supported by hospitality amenities. Each centre can be accessed independently or through interior hotel corridors, enhancing flexibility for private or secure events.
Bedrooms
The Grand Malahide features 202 rooms across six floors (Mezzanine through Floor 5). Room categories include Superior and Executive, with Standard and Classica rooms not typically offered in group contracts. Standard business traveller amenities include a work desk, laptop-compatible safe, high-speed Wi-Fi, tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary water, USB chargers, ironing equipment, European electrical sockets, and hypo-allergenic bedding on request. Bathrobes are available in upgraded categories and can be removed upon request.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
The Coast Restaurant, located on the ground floor, serves contemporary Irish cuisine with 200 seats and is available for full privatisation outside of breakfast hours. Additional food and beverage outlets include the Matt Ryan Bar for all-day dining, the Griffon Bar for private evening receptions (Sun–Thurs), and private dining/event spaces such as the Tara Suite (up to 350 guests), O’Carolan Suite (150 guests), and Moldowney Suite (80 guests). These provide flexible dining and reception options for meetings and event use.
Experience
The Grand Malahide has a proven track record of hosting a wide range of healthcare-related events, such as regional/global medical associations, Grand Rounds, KOL meetings, sponsored symposia, internal product launches, sales meetings, and hybrid formats.
Fitness
Fitness and leisure facilities are housed in a separate building within the same parking complex. The Health and Fitness Centre includes free weights, cardio and strength machines, and a swimming pool. There is no spa or treatment service available, and the facilities are managed in-house. These amenities are positioned at a distance from the meeting spaces, supporting the hotel’s professional profile.
The Grand Malahide is a certified 4-star property and avoids promotional language such as “luxury,” “award-winning,” or “boutique” in its materials.
The venue’s proximity to Dublin’s HCP markets and major travel hubs, combined with its event-ready infrastructure, make it a compliant and suitable choice for healthcare-related meetings.
