General Overview
The Melia Marbella is a Banus 4* and a venue with a mix of facilities and services for business and leisure markets.
Location
Located in a residential area, and away from the beach area, it it close to, but not overlooking the beach area.
The nearest airport is in Malaga – Costa del Sol Airport and is 40 min by car. For groups using the hotel for accommodation when attending a congress, the Palacio de Congresos de Marbella is 10 minutes away by car, or 20 min by public transport.
For group travel coach bays are available outside.
Design
The external appearance can be described as Mediterranean, a low-level white building providing a more modern and contemporary feel.
Meeting Space
The hotel’s meeting space is in a separate and dedicated building with limited access to the hotel gardens.
Four meeting rooms accommodated meetings from small boardrooms to 120 in theatre style and can any area be privatised on request.
Bedrooms
The hotels 200 bedrooms are spread across 6 bedroom floors and include a work desk, safe, tea & coffee complimentary wi-fi & hairdryer. Any rooms that include mini-fridge, bathrobes, and Nespresso machines, can have these removed on request for HCP allocation.
Restaurant
The hotel’s main restaurant, the D.O.M , is located on the 1º Floor, and serves Haute cuisine. It seats 45 and is the location for guest breakfast, lunch, and dinner. This can be privatised however, for dinner meetings involving HCPs, a meeting room is recommended.
The hotel also has the Rio Verde Restaurant, La Hiedra , and Terraza Rio Verde
Experience
The hotel has experience of hosting meetings from the pharmaceutical industry and also university meetings.
Fitness
The hotel offers guests access to a full gym with free weights and fitness machines, and their ‘Wellness Centre’. This includes an Indoor swimming pool, and sauna and treatments are available, but offered by an external company.
Marbella is a popular destination for tourism and leisure so aligns more with the internal meeting types.
The hotel advertises itself as on the golden mile, a reference to the immediate location, and the beach and sea are used in its sales and marketing imagery.
The hotel offers guests a wellness area and is not advertised as a spa although treatments are provided by an external company.
