General Overview
The Glasshouse is an International Centre for music and conference and events venue.
As a registered charity providing concerts and opportunities to learn and develop musical activity, and all commercial activity supports the charity.
Meetings and Events are an important and large part of their business mix as they run over 60 events per year, many off them include whole building (exclusive use) hires.
The venue prides itself on being accessible by everyone, from the blind to wheelchair users and those from diverse backgrounds and genders.

Location
The Glasshouse sits on the banks of the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.
The city’s mainline train station is an 8 minute taxi ride away and the international airport can be reached in 15 minutes by taxi or 25 by the Wear Metro.
For delegates driving, the North / South running A1 connects to the city and 261 parking spaces with an additional 36 accessible parking bays are available via its own car park with discounts offered for conference delegates.
There are 11 coach parking bays at the rear of the building operated by Gateshead Council.
Design
The Glasshouse as the name suggests, is a design-led, curved glass fronted venue giving a modern contemporary style.
This styling is continued inside with plenty of natural daylight
Meeting Space
The building has three levels all accessible via the large concourse area. All spaces are accessible via lift and stairs, and we have braille handrails and lift buttons. There are two main entrances on the East and West sides of the building to allow for meeting group separation (the Tyne Bridge side and Millennium Bridge), unless exclusive use is required. There is also backstage access for organisers.
On Concourse Level: Entry to the building is on the ground level, welcome desk, cloakroom.
Level One: Access to Sage One, Northern Rock Foundation Hall and Sage Two
Level B: Access to Barbour Room Level Two & Three Access to the second and third tiers of Sage One including Meeting Pods
Make Music Centre Access to Make Music Centre, lower ground floor
The large central Concourse can be used for exhibitions, medical conventions or conferences.
Bedrooms
As a venue, bedrooms are not available.
Restaurant
The venue has a brasserie serving modern British cuisine and can seat 76 but conference catering ranges from buffets to canapes and bowl food and street food stalls.

As a music and concert venue, sales and marketing includes information about ticketted events. Outside of these events, the venue is an empty and versatile meeting and events venue and available for private hire.
