General Oveview

Hotel Papendal is a 4-star rated hotel and conference center and part of the Olympic Training Centre.

Location

Located 10 minutes outside the city of Arnhem, it has a countryside location surrounded by forests and green spaces. Popular tourist areas are a short distance away but do not provide an immediate distraction for meetings and events here. Arnhem mainline train station is 10 minutes away and Schipol and Rotterdam Airports are 66 and 75 minutes away, respectively. For delegates driving the hotel has 500 free parking spaces and coach bays.

Design

Papendal is a mainly brick and glass building with a modern appearance to its exterior. As part of the Olympic Training Centre, there are numerous sporting references and links to past and future games in its theming however, the overall feel is of a business venue focussed on excellence.

Meeting Space

The main meeting spaces are on the ground floor and can accommodate small to large congresses and trade shows. This includes their largest congress room / exhibition space, the Athens Hall, which can accommodate up 1800 persons. This room is very business orientated with high ceilings, a spotlighted stage, technical desk and the possibility to divide the room into multiple sections for different Healthcare meeting purposes, like a trade show, lunch or plenary session. 

There is also a total of 28 meeting rooms, all designed for meetings and events. The rooms vary from large to medium and small, making the facility very flexible for all types of meetings especially sales conferences, product launches, and advisory meetings. There is one main entrance providing access to all ground-floor meeting rooms and public spaces. Our dedicated hosts will help you during your meeting or event with any questions you might have.

Bedrooms

Bedrooms are equally split over four floors, -1, ground floor, 1 and 2, and all rooms come with business facilities such as laptop safe, telephone, and complimentary wi-fi.

Restaurants and Public Spaces

Restaurant Olympic Club seats 220 and is the location for guests breakfast, lunch, and dinner and serves International cuisine with a focus on organic, local, and plant-based food. It can be privatized but meeting spaces like center court and meeting room 11 would be needed for private dinner meetings.

Papendal is a regular host for meetings from across the healthcare system. From Psychiatry to rheumatology to general practitioners. They work closely with Wageningen and Radboud University, Rijnstate Hospital.

Fitness and Facilities

The hotel provides guests with a fitness gym with free weights and exercise machines. The fitness is located in the basement of the hotel, overlooking the green surroundings and not overpowering the meetings and events space as it is situated on the other side of our conference center and not on the same floor. The hotel also offers a hotel bar with terrace overlooking the golf course.

The venue's connection to the Olympics may be considered an attraction to attend an event here however, as with the attention to detail for the athletes, meetings, and events are delivered with the same quality and focus.
