General Overview
The 4-star DoubleTree by Hilton – Docklands Riverside is a business hotel with a significant amount of conference space, with 11 separate meeting rooms, and 378 guest rooms so residential meetings for up to 250 can be help here.
Location
The hotel sits within a residential area, directly across the River Thames from Canary Wharf. A complimentary Ferry service is available to Canary Wharf Pier (10 minutes’ walk from Canary Wharf Underground Station (Elizabeth Line, Jubilee Line, DLR)
C10 bus service stops directly outside hotel (5 minutes to Canada Water Tube station) or onwards to Waterloo / Victoria
For delegates driving, there is 80 underground parking spaces, managed by the hotel.
For group travel there are 3 coach bays outside the hotel.
Design
The hotel consists of 3 buildings – a historic converted shipbuilding wharf building, alongside two converted residential apartment buildings, these are linked by glass walkways leading to a central glass fronted reception area, this area also has a entrance from the hotel’s pier (for those arriving by river) along with separate entrance from those arriving from local street by car/foot.
The historic wharf building dates from the 1800’s, whereas the two more modern building are brick built, in a style from the 1970’s/80’s, with the hotel reception being located on the ground floor of the middle building, the upper floors of this space, and entirety of the third building consisting of bedrooms many of which feature exterior balconies.
Meeting Space
Nine of the eleven meeting rooms are located on the lower ground floor of the hotel, with access via the hotel entrance and main reception area and can be privatised on request.
The largest meeting room is the London Room which holds 140 cabaret style set-up so with the restaurant holding the same number, this meeting size works well here.
Groups of up to 60 works well for second largest rooms for similar reasons.

Bedrooms
The hotel’s 378 bedrooms are provided across the 2nd to 6th floors and business amenities include a work desk, laptop safe / tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary wi-fi. Work Desk, Safe, Tea & Coffee Making Facility, Air Conditioning.
There are no Fridges, with Bathrobes in standard / rooms, and the Coffee machines can be removed from Suites if required.
Bedrooms are spacious throughout the hotel and have a minimum of 20 sqm, with differing decorative styles between the Wharf building, where rooms have a sense of history, and feature exposed brickwork on one wall, whereas within the other two building decoration is more contemporary.
Restaurant
Columbia is the name of the hotel’s main restaurant, serving British / Modern European cuisine for up to 140.
The restaurant is broken into 3 sections, one of these can be completely privatised (seating 60 people) and has a private entrance- the space also has access onto the river front terrace (which can also be privatised)
River Front Terrace is suitable for events of up to 150 people, views across the river to Canary Wharf skyline.
For dinner meetings or catering functions, all 11 Meeting rooms can be used for private dining (ranging from 6 to 250 delegates).
Experience
The hotel has previously hosted Investigator / Advisory Board Meetings as well as a range of internal meetings for a selection of healthcare clients.
As part of the Hilton, they have some mutually agreed Global MSA with certain agencies / direct corporate clients.
Fitness
The hotel provides guests only with a modern gym on the lower ground floor, with both Cardio and Resistance machines as well as a free weight area. Running routes also mapped from hotel along river.
The hotel does not have a pool and/or a spa.
The River Thames runs past the hotel but the tourist areas and popular sites are not close by.
The Gym is located on the lower ground floor along with meeting space – however this can be closed to other hotel guests if complete privacy is needed.
