General Overview
This summary focuses on the Radisson Blu Royal hotel whilst demonstrating its enhanced meeting capacities when used as one space with the Dublin Royal Convention Centre. Both buildings are owned by the same organisation and are located within a short walking distance of each other with access from the hotel 1st floor and courtyard for residents.
Location:
The Radisson Blu Royal is located in a modern building 5 minutes’ walk from the centre of Dublin in a commercial and residentially focused part of the city. Dublin airport is 40 minutes’ drive with the Dublin Royal convention centre just next door.
Design:
The Radisson Blu Royal is essentially built in a U shape with an inner courtyard and gardens with one side used as offices. The hotel is modern and contemporary throughout, designed in an executive style with street views to public areas and the city or courtyard from bedrooms. Externally, you will find a modern build, with plenty of glass on display in an almost artistic form. Internally, styling repeats the modern feel, executive with the use of a deeper tone of brown and beige colour palette throughout.
Bedrooms
There are 234 bedrooms of which 129 are in a standard classification, you can see within the breakdown on our website. A further 69 rooms are in an executive class, of a slightly bigger size, and include an espresso machine. In our opinion we believe that these rooms will likely be suitable for use by meetings for healthcare professionals. Most rooms follow a similar design with the muted brown and beige of public areas however standard rooms use some primary colours to accent these spaces. Overall, the rooms offer a comfortable, executive feel. There is free Wi-Fi throughout all rooms, as well as the now-standard flat-screen television, safe, iron/board, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
Restaurant:
There are three locations to eat in the hotel; the main space being the Chancery Grill, open for breakfast and dinner and group lunches offering Irish style food with 168 seats located on the ground floor. Adjacent is the Chancery lounge open for breakfast and lunch. Both spaces follow a similar styling, almost like a brasserie to the eye. The Dyflin bar is on the first floor, with access and seats available in the central courtyard and gardens. This space matches others in the hotel with use of dark woods and leather seating. Lunch and dinner are available here.
Meeting space:
There are 3 principal rooms in the Conference Centre which when sub-divided can be made into 6 with 7 rooms sub-divided to a total of 12 at the Radisson Blu Royal. The largest space, in the conference centre, can accommodate 800 persons in theatre style including a stage. There are a number of rooms that can accommodate larger groups up to 90 persons cabaret style with multiple supporting breakout rooms. Goldsmiths’ hall on the hotel's ground floor is a traditional room, wood-panelled and offering a very different style to the rest of the rooms in both the hotel and the convention which are modern and contemporary. On the top floor of the hotel is the self-contained sky suite with impressive views of the city, a space for catering and a lounge for informal meetings.
Fitness:
At the extreme end of the hotel complex is the Velvaere Spa. This is a high-end spa with an upscale theme and a number of treatment spaces and a shop.
There are no fitness rooms at the hotel.
Some marketing on the hotel’s website uses limited, yet elevated language to describe the hotel such as; stylish hotel, vibrant rooms or the hosting of prestigious events. This is in the main directed to individual travellers and would be misleading if it was felt to describe the hotel used as a venue for meetings. The spa cannot be accessed directly from the hotel only via a separated entrance which is not in-sight of the hotel entrance.
