General Overview
Built in 2017, the Apex City of Bath is a 4-star hotel in the centre of Bath with a mix of facilities for business and leisure guests. However, with its own conference centre, business events are a key focus offering of the hotel.
The hotel’s conference centre has its own private entrance, providing access to 9 dedicated meeting rooms providing a maximum capacity for 400 in theatre style.

Location
The hotel is located in the city centre and naturally, the city’s tourist attractions are nearby, but the hotel does overlook them and in fact commercial and residential buidings surround the building.
The Bath Spa train station is an 8minute walk away and connects the city with direct trains to London which take 90 minutes.
For delegates driving the hotel ‘s nearest overnight/long stay car park is in Charlotte Street, 2 minutes from the hotel.
For group travel, coaches can park outside for 30 minutes to pickup / drop off.
Design
As it was built in 2017 the building features clean lines and a contemporary façade, primarily composed of glass, steel, and stone, which allows it to blend with the city's Georgian and Roman architectural heritage.
The modern and contemporary styling continues inside with the use of marble floors and high-end materials to present a minimalist appearance.
Meeting Space
The hotel’s conference centre has a dedicated exterior entrance on Charles Street and has 9 event/meeting rooms across two floors.
Residential meetings for between 120-400 delegateswho are looking for syndicate space which can be used in the first-floor conference centre or exhibition/poster sessions which can be located in the Atrium area of the first-floor conference centre.
Alternatively smaller meetings for 100 with a need for separate, private catering facilities will work in the Lansdown Suite as you can use Lansdown 1 for meeting and 2 for dining or vice versa depending on numbers and layout. Small day meetings work well in the first floor conference centre.
Also, in the first-floor conference centre a meeting for up to 60 /80 which then has requirements for private use of the entire floor works well as they can use the Atrium area for catering and the smaller meetings for syndicate rooms. The Lansdown can also work for larger dining and networking events.
Bedrooms
The hotel’s 177 bedrooms are spread across the 1st to 4th floors and come with business amenities such as work desk, laptop safe / tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary wi-fi.
Restaurant
The x150 seat Orange Artichoke on the ground floor is the hotel’s main restaurant and serves Anglo European cuisine. Private use of the restaurant cannot be guaranteed but can be requested, but for 100% private dinner meetings, a meeting room is required.
The hotel bar can be used for private events but will depend on group size and other resident activities in the hotel.
Experience
The hotel has experience in hosting meetings for internal local NHS departments; life sciences companies and medical associations.
Fitness
The hotel has a fitness gym on the lower ground floor with free weights and exercise machines.
Residential guests have access to a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room but spa treatments are not available.
Some sales and marketing messaging describe the hotel facilities as ‘luxury’ however the hotel is rated and aligns to a 4-star hotel. The description is used to describe the leisure facilities which would not be part of any proposal for meetings and events involving HCPs.
The City of Bath is well known for its history and marketing does make reference to it within a balanced approach to attract both leisure and business guests. With its dedicated conference centre, it makes for a well located, and ideal business venue for residential, national and local meetings.
