Location
The venue is situated two minutes from Junction 14 of the M5 motorway, offering convenient access to Bristol (15 minutes), Birmingham (1 hour), and London (1 hour 40 minutes). Its rural setting is well connected by direct train services from London Paddington to Bristol Parkway. The property offers complimentary parking for over 200 vehicles and includes coach parking bays, ensuring ease of arrival for large groups.
Design
Externally, the venue maintains its original Gothic mansion style, while the interiors adopt a "modern heritage" aesthetic, combining historical character with updated finishes. Large glass atriums and indoor greenery contribute to a light-filled environment. The design supports compliance with healthcare standards through defined zones, discrete access to meeting areas, and facilities for exclusive or semi-private use.
Meeting Spaces
The hotel provides 14 meeting rooms, primarily on the ground floor for accessibility. The largest, the Westminster Suite, accommodates 350 delegates theatre-style and features a built-in stage, AV technology, breakout rooms, and private restrooms. This suite can be divided into four syndicate spaces and opens directly to outdoor areas. Other unique spaces include The Orangery and The Atrium, the latter with a 60-ft glass ceiling. The venue can support zoned and exclusive use.
Bedrooms
Accommodation comprises 201 rooms across the Mansion House and Courtyard buildings, distributed over three and two floors respectively. Room categories include Cosy Doubles/Twins, Courtyard Superiors, Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Junior Executive Suites, and Mansion House Suites. All rooms offer en suite bathrooms, laptop-sized safes, ironing equipment, and tea/coffee facilities. Suites provide additional amenities such as Nespresso machines, bottled water, and robes. Refurbishments of Courtyard Superior rooms are planned for April 2025.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
The primary dining venue, the 1853 Restaurant, serves British cuisine and seats up to 160 guests, with overflow accommodated in the Library Bar. Private dining is only possible in designated event spaces. Additional venues include The Atrium Bistro and Terrace Bar, and The Tipi, which operates seasonally for private events and weekend tapas dining. Room service is available to Mansion House guests only. No dining-related awards were noted.

The venue has extensive experience hosting healthcare and corporate events, ranging from small executive dinners to large-scale residential conferences for over 200 delegates. It has hosted biannual healthcare meetings for up to 160 participants under long-term contracts running through 2028.
