Crowne Plaza Zurich is a business-oriented hotel in Zurich’s Altstetten district, featuring a contemporary design with 11 meeting rooms across two levels, including a 380-capacity theatre-style space. It offers 365 guest rooms over four floors, supporting corporate and conference events.

Location

Crowne Plaza Zurich is situated in the Altstetten district of Zurich, a mixed residential and business area within the city’s financial district. The venue is located near Lake Zurich, the Old Town, and Uetliberg but does not directly overlook tourist attractions. Zurich Airport is approximately 12 km away, reachable in around 20–25 minutes by taxi or 30–35 minutes by public transport. Zurich Altstetten Train Station is about 1 km away and can be reached in under 10 minutes on foot or 5 minutes by car. A tram stop directly outside the hotel connects to central Zurich. The hotel provides access to a 550-space public underground car park and offers designated coach drop-off and pick-up directly at the main entrance.

Design

The hotel’s external design is defined by a contemporary concrete structure, conveying a professional urban style. Inside, the public areas, meeting rooms, and guest bedrooms are finished in a modern business aesthetic. Compliance-suitable features include three meeting rooms with partially separate access from the main hotel entrance, supporting discreet entry for attendees. Natural daylight features throughout all meeting rooms further enhance the professional environment.

Meeting Spaces

Crowne Plaza Zurich offers 11 meeting spaces located on the ground and souterrain levels. All rooms benefit from natural daylight. Workshop center rooms are additionally equipped with 220 cm TV screens suitable for hybrid meetings and AV-intensive sessions. The largest meeting room, located on the souterrain level, offers 498 sqm of space and accommodates up to 380 delegates in theatre style. This level includes a dedicated foyer and toilets, along with other breakout and seminar rooms. Three of the meeting rooms offer separate access points independent of the hotel’s main entrance. Event formats hosted at the venue include conferences, congresses, seminars, trade shows, product launches, investigator meetings and exhibitions.

Bedrooms

The hotel comprises 365 guest rooms across four floors (1st to 5th). Room types include Standard, Superior, and Junior Suites. Standard room amenities feature tea and coffee making facilities, a work desk, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, an iron and ironing board, multi-plug adapter, a small fridge and a safe. Bathrobes and coffee machines can be removed upon request. All rooms are configured to support business travellers and healthcare professionals, with functional layouts and secure storage options.

Restaurant and Public Spaces

Restaurant West is the venue’s main restaurant, serving daily breakfast. Lunch and dinner in an international and buffet-style format is available upon request. Located within the hotel, it seats up to 122 guests and is available for full private hire for dinner meetings and presentations. The 420 Restaurant and Bar offers an additional space for gatherings and can be fully privatised on a minmum spend or room hire fee. Alternatively, the Salon Bleu meeting room is available for private dining. The 420 Bar and Lounge is suitable for professional networking and is also bookable based on a minimum spend or room hire fee. The venue’s meeting facilities have received recognition in the 2024 Swiss Location Awards.

Experience

Crowne Plaza Zurich has experience in hosting various types of healthcare-related meetings, including symposiums, discussion panels, exhibitions, hybrid formats, and one-on-one sessions. Although the venue does not currently hold signed MSA agreements with healthcare agencies or direct connections to life science clusters, it demonstrates familiarity with compliance needs and a history of hosting healthcare-related events.

Fitness

The venue includes a health club located on sublevel 1, adjacent to the meeting spaces. Facilities include a fitness gym with both exercise machines and free weights, a pool. These facilities are managed by a third-party operator leasing space within the property. While the venue markets itself as a health and fitness club, it does not promote itself as a spa or wellness destination, although spa treatments are available upon request.

Crowne Plaza Zurich holds an official 4-star rating and does not market proximity to tourist attractions as a reason for booking.

While the venue avoids most promotional language, its marketing materials do include the term “award-winning” in reference to its meeting spaces, which were recognised in the 2024 Swiss Location Awards. 

The hotel, similar to other business hotels, rents space out to external suppliers. Holmes Place is a 3rd party supplier which provides the hotel's fitness facilities which include a gym with both exercise machines and free weights, a pool, and massage treatments. The treatments are provided by a 4th party supplier and are payable and in our opinion, should not detract bookers from considering the hotel appropriate to host HCP meetings.
