The venue is approximately 6 km from Hamburg’s city centre. It is accessible by public transport, with connections to one of the city’s three major train stations located nearby. The venue includes 75 parking spaces, 15 of which are in an underground garage, and offers drop-off facilities for coaches directly in front of the hotel’s main entrance.
Design
The hotel’s external architecture reflects its industrial heritage, featuring original red brick structures and steel elements consistent with its origin as a gasworks facility. The internal design is a hybrid of industrial and modern aesthetics, incorporating exposed materials with contemporary styling. These characteristics contribute to a professional atmosphere suitable for business and healthcare meetings, with discreet access points and a layout that promotes discretion and privacy suitable for healthcare-related events.
Meeting Spaces
Gastwerk Hotel Hamburg offers 10 meeting rooms spread across two floors, ranging from 25 m² to 268 m². The largest room, Denk.Mal 2, accommodates up to 180 delegates in theatre style and is equipped for front projection. Located on the same floor are Denk.Mal 1 (78 m² for 40 persons) and the Blue Library (50 m² for 14 persons), allowing for breakout sessions or parallel meetings. All rooms benefit from natural daylight and modern AV facilities.
Bedrooms
The hotel features 141 bedrooms over six floors (Ground to 5th floor), categorised into various loft styles including S-Loft (Standard), M-Loft (Executive), and L-/XL-/XXL-Lofts (Suites). All rooms are equipped with business-friendly amenities such as complimentary Wi-Fi, work desks, safes, minibars, and coffee machines. Select amenities, including bathrobes and Nespresso machines, can be removed upon request to align with corporate compliance preferences.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
The Mangold Restaurant, located on the ground floor, serves as the main dining facility with a seating capacity of 80 indoors and 40 outdoors. It offers a blend of regional and international dishes and can be fully privatised for corporate use. Additional spaces such as the Mangold Bar (60 total seats) and the Wintergarden (100 total seats) are available for receptions and informal meetings, with buffet and seated menu options. The Denk Mal Hall is also available for exhibitions and events.

Gastwerk Hotel Hamburg has a strong track record in hosting exhibitions, meetings, and conferences for the healthcare and life sciences sectors.
