Meliá Berlin is a 4-star superior hotel strategically located in central Berlin. Location
Meliá Berlin is located in Berlin’s city centre, within the Mitte district, at the intersection of Friedrichstraße and the River Spree. This area is one of Berlin’s most dynamic cultural and commercial hubs, close to Museum Island and the Brandenburg Gate. The venue’s proximity to central government buildings and academic institutions further enhances its suitability for professional and compliance-focused meetings. Friedrichstraße station, directly opposite the hotel, provides regional, subway, and S-Bahn links across Berlin and to Berlin Brandenburg Airport (35 minutes via direct regional train). Local attractions such as Unter den Linden and the Reichstag are within a 15-minute walk. The venue includes a private underground car park with 76 spaces and e-charging stations. Coaches may stop at the main entrance for drop-off and pick-up, with nearby long-term bus parking available.
Design
The hotel presents a modern external façade using glass and natural stone, harmonising with Berlin’s urban setting. Internally, the hotel adopts a warm modern-contemporary aesthetic with Mediterranean influences, evident in the use of natural light, quality materials, and subdued tones. The layout supports compliance with private and easily accessible meeting spaces on a dedicated floor. Signage and exclusive check-in options further reinforce discreet access. The absence of promotional or tourist-oriented décor supports its business orientation.
Meeting Spaces
Meliá Berlin features eight flexible meeting rooms, all situated on the first floor. The rooms are equipped with modern AV technology, natural daylight, and blackout options. The largest room (Barcelona 1–3 combined) accommodates up to 550 guests theatre-style and supports front projection. All rooms on this dedicated floor allow for streamlined logistics, with adjacent rooms enabling breakout sessions, workshops, or confidential consultations. The layout and discreet access support compliance-sensitive gatherings such as healthcare events, board meetings, and training sessions.
Bedrooms
The hotel offers 364 guest rooms across eight floors. The rooms are classified into Standard (Meliá Room), Executive (The Level Room), and Suite (The Level Suite) categories. Standard rooms are equipped with ergonomic work desks, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, in-room safes, tea/coffee facilities, and flat-screen TVs. Rooms are soundproofed, and many offer views over the River Spree or Friedrichstraße. Mini-fridges are standard and can be cleared upon request. Bathrobes and Nespresso machines are available in Executive and Suite categories, and can be removed to meet compliance needs.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
Café Madrid, located on the first floor, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner and features international cuisine with Spanish and Mediterranean influences. It has a capacity of 180 seated guests and can be fully privatised for business dining or presentations. The Tapas Bar on the ground floor accommodates 40 seated or 60 standing and is partially or fully available for private hire. The Meliá Lounge & Bar supports casual meetings and receptions for up to 50 standing guests but is not fully private; for confidential content, meeting rooms are recommended. No additional restaurants are on-site, but room service and private catering are available.
Experience
The venue has a strong track record in hosting healthcare-related events, including advisory boards, clinical meetings, internal workshops, and training sessions. The hotel collaborates under MSAs with leading healthcare agencies and supports hybrid and virtual formats. Its central location also facilitates events involving academic and medical institutions such as Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin and the Berlin Institute of Health.
Fitness
A 24-hour fitness gym is available to guests, located on an upper guestroom floor and separate from the conference area. The gym includes cardio equipment, free weights, and resistance machines. The hotel does not include a spa or pool, nor does it market itself as a wellness destination.
Meliá Berlin holds an official 4-star superior classification. While centrally located, it avoids positioning itself as a luxury or entertainment venue, maintaining a business-oriented profile. The venue does not promote award-winning status or use language such as “luxury” or “boutique” in a manner that conflicts with compliance standards.
