The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is a mixed-use facility catering to both business and leisure markets, offering a total of 500 guest rooms. The property features a 257 sqm ballroom, five breakout rooms, and a 1000 sqm unique event venue (Koepelkerk) located across the street and accessible via an underground tunnel. Facilities include a rooftop, bar, restaurant, and fitness room. Meetings of up to 300 delegates can be accommodated. The venue allocates significant space and infrastructure to MICE activities, with half the ground floor dedicated to meeting and event facilities that include a separate entrance from the leisure areas.
The venue is situated in the city centre of Amsterdam, adjacent to the main train station, within a commercial and business-oriented district. It is located at Kattegat 1 and is 15 minutes by train from Schiphol Airport. Amsterdam Central Station is a 3-minute walk from the hotel, and prominent landmarks such as Dam Square and the Anne Frank House are within a 10–15-minute walking distance. The hotel collaborates with Q-Park for delegate parking and offers a drop-off area directly in front of the meetings and events entrance, suitable for coach arrivals.
The external architecture of the venue is modern contemporary, using a combination of brick and glass. Internally, the hotel adopts a design theme that reflects modern sophistication with influences from Dutch cultural heritage, particularly the Golden Age. Public areas and rooms emphasise artistic yet functional layouts, while meeting spaces are light-filled, flexible, and technology-enabled with a clean, contemporary aesthetic. Confidentiality is supported through the use of discreet access points and designated meeting areas separate from public leisure areas.
There are a total of 13 meeting rooms: eight are located in the main hotel building on the ground floor, including a 257 sqm ballroom divisible into three spaces, six additional meeting rooms, and a pre-function area with cloakroom. The remaining five rooms are housed in the Koepelkerk building, which includes one main room and four breakout rooms. The largest hotel-based room is the ballroom, accommodating 300 delegates in theatre style, while the Koepelzaal across the street holds up to 375 delegates. All hotel meeting rooms are located on the ground floor, and the Koepelkerk is accessible via an underground tunnel. Events typically include international conferences, product launches, trainings, and dinners, with 200 delegates considered optimal.
The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel offers 500 bedrooms across five floors (1–6), including standard rooms ('Guest Room/REN Room'), executive rooms, and suites. Standard amenities include work desks, laptop-sized safes, and complimentary Wi-Fi. Executive rooms are equipped with coffee machines and some include layouts that separate work and sleep areas. All in-room amenities can be removed on request to meet compliance needs.
The primary restaurant, 'Janine,' is located on the ground floor opposite the conference centre and serves fresh pastries for breakfast and Italian-inspired pizzas and pastas during lunch and dinner. It offers 115 seats and can be fully privatised. Other outlets include the lobby bar 'De Specht' (not suitable for private use), the rooftop venue 'Cima' (capacity 150, privatisable, not yet open), and 'Koepelkerk' (1000 sqm, up to 600 for standing receptions). Private dinners with presentations are best accommodated in the ballroom or Koepelkerk.
The venue has hosted various healthcare-related meetings such as internal and sales meetings, including room blocks for healthcare professionals. It holds signed MSA agreements with key healthcare agencies but does not currently have connections with local science parks, hospital clusters, or universities.
The hotel includes a fitness facility equipped with free weights and exercise machines. It does not offer a pool, spa, or wellness treatments, nor does it market itself as a wellness destination. No additional leisure facilities are present.
The Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel is officially unrated and does not promote itself using terms such as luxury, award-winning, or entertainment-focused. Rooftop events may include entertainment once opened but are not central to the venue's identity. No language indicative of non-compliance was found on official materials.
