General Overview
Convene London County Hall is a dedicated meetings and events venue where 100% of its business is focused on hosting conferences, training programmes, and corporate gatherings. The venue is purpose-built for professional use and offers a wide range of flexible meeting spaces designed to support different event formats.
Location
County Hall is situated on the Southbank in Central London, overlooking the River Thames and adjacent to St Thomas’s Hospital. Convene County Hall is one of the businesses within the building. It is within walking distance of major landmarks including Westminster Bridge, the London Eye, and Big Ben, making it easily identifiable but not reliant on tourist traffic. The venue is well connected by public transport, with Waterloo underground station a 5-minute walk away and Westminster station a 10-minute walk. The venue does not have on-site parking facilities, but delegates can use the National Theatre Car Park, located approximately a 10-minute walk from the venue. Coach pick-up and drop-off is managed on Belvedere Road.
Design
Externally, the venue presents a mix of modern and traditional styles, featuring exposed brickwork and original hardwood flooring in line with its historic County Hall setting, paired with modern fittings. Internally, the venue maintains a professional, contemporary style across its public areas and meeting rooms. All rooms have natural daylight and integrated AV, ensuring functionality. The design prioritises business use, with privacy and professionalism at its core.
Meeting Spaces
The venue offers 30 meeting rooms across two floors of County Hall, all with natural daylight, air-conditioning, and built-in AV equipment. The largest room accommodates 400 delegates in theatre style, supported by up to 10 breakout rooms on the same floor, ranging in capacity from 30 to 200 delegates. This allows for flexible configurations to suit conferences, training sessions, and board meetings. The venue does not have a separate private entrance but maintains professional access through its main entry points.
Bedrooms
The venue does not provide bedrooms or guest accommodation but being in central London, there are numerous 4 star business hotels within a 10 minute walk.
Restaurant and Public Spaces
The main dining outlets are the Speakers Bar and Restaurant on the 4th floor and Knights Lounge on the 3rd floor, serving seasonal, locally sourced British and international cuisine, with over 200 seats available. While typically used for receptions and buffet dinners, larger private banquets are accommodated in the County Suite or Waterloo Suite, seating up to 240, or hosting receptions for up to 600. During the day, meals are provided buffet-style, while evenings may include buffet, reception, or banquet formats. Additional spaces, including two restaurants, a bar, and a lounge with river views, are available for professional gatherings and may be booked for private events.
Experience
The venue has hosted healthcare-related meetings including pharmaceutical conferences and awards ceremonies. It is positioned for corporate healthcare and life sciences events, providing multiple breakout spaces and discreet meeting areas, though it does not currently hold MSAs with healthcare agencies or have formal partnerships with local hospital or university clusters.
Fitness
No fitness facilities, pools, or spa services are available at the venue. It does not present itself as a spa or wellness destination, and no additional leisure amenities are offered.
The venue does not advertise an official star rating and operates solely as a meetings and events venue. It does not promote itself as luxurious, award-winning, or boutique, avoiding high-risk terminology associated with compliance concerns. While it references its Southbank location and proximity to major attractions such as the London Eye and Westminster Bridge, these are presented factually as nearby landmarks rather than as draws for leisure or entertainment purposes.
