General Overview
DoubleTree by Hilton Amsterdam Centraal Station is a contemporary 4-star business hotel featuring 557 modern guest rooms and 15 versatile meeting rooms, accommodating up to 220 delegates in theatre-style setup. Completed in November 2024, the hotel’s full interior renovation has enhanced both its meeting infrastructure and food & beverage outlets. With its upgraded facilities, central location, and experience in hosting compliant healthcare meetings, the hotel is well-suited for pharmaceutical events such as advisory boards, investigator meetings, HCP gatherings, and internal training sessions.
Location
Strategically located just a 3-minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal Station, the hotel provides excellent international and local connectivity. Direct train access to Schiphol Airport (15 minutes), Eurostar service from London St Pancras (4 hours 12 minutes), and Thalys from Paris (3 hours 18 minutes) make it exceptionally convenient for hosting cross-border meetings. The RAI Convention Center—one of Europe’s key pharma congress venues—is just 8 minutes away via direct metro, positioning the hotel as a prime location for side events, spin-off sessions, and breakout groups during major conferences. On-site parking is available at the public Oosterdok garage directly beneath the hotel.
Design
Following a recent renovation, the hotel offers a fresh, modern design with clean lines, minimalist decor, and an abundance of natural light. The aesthetic balances comfort with professionalism, making it suitable for confidential discussions and compliant business interactions. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide views over Amsterdam’s skyline while ensuring a bright and open atmosphere.
Guest Rooms
The hotel offers 557 well-appointed guest rooms, designed with comfort and functionality in mind for business travelers. Rooms feature complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi, work desks, flat-screen TVs, in-room safes, tea/coffee-making facilities, and premium bedding. Bathrooms are equipped with walk-in showers and contemporary finishes. Unique themed rooms, such as those inspired by “The Amsterdam School,” add local character while maintaining a professional, compliant environment. Room blocks can be arranged to support group travel for meetings or events.
Meeting Space
The hotel features 15 meeting rooms totaling 714 square meters of flexible event space, all located on one floor for ease of navigation. Spaces can be reserved exclusively, with options for both plenary sessions and small breakout discussions. The largest meeting room hosts up to 200 delegates in theatre style, and all rooms feature natural daylight, floor-to-ceiling windows.
Restaurant
Dining options include several fully renovated outlets such as LOT 61 Coffee Bar, the Lobby Bar, Restaurant We Are EDN, and the show-stopping LuminAir rooftop bar. For exclusive events, LuminAir offers a private space called Eclipse, ideal for hosting VIP receptions or end-of-day networking with panoramic view.
Fitness
The hotel’s Fitness Centre is equipped with both cardio and strength training equipment, offering guests a space to stay active during their stay.
This venue is located in a city renowned for its historic and leisure attractions however, the hotel site is located some distance from these areas and has minimal impact on the venueís business proposition. To attract the weekend leisure market this venue may promote their facilities and nearby activities. These supplement its business services, which can stand alone and are only modestly impacted by facilities and activities aimed toward weekend guests.
As with many central Amsterdam properties the hotel has views of the city and canals but remains a well presented and practical proposition for healthcare meetings from our point of view. It has great transport links and is within easy reach of the Rai Congress Centre.
Although officially unrated sites such as Tripadvisor and Booking.com classify this hotel as 4*.
