Compliance Summary

Overview

Hilton London Metropole Hotel is a four-star conference hotel, and meetings and events form a large part of their business.

Location

Located in central London, the hotel is easily accessible to all major UK airports (Heathrow Airport, London City, and Gatwick airports) and major national rail stations (Euston, Marylebone, and St Pancras International) with Edngware Road tube station just across the street and Paddington Station a 5-7 minute walk away. For delegates driving the hotel is outside London's congestion zone. The A40 motorway is meters away and the hotel offers a car park of 130 spaces available onsite.

Design

The hotel design is inspired by the local area with a contemporary and bold aesthetic that reflects different London boroughs. As you enter the foyer, it is evident that the hotel is divided into 3 buildings (East, Tower, and West) and each section is influenced by a specific London area. The East Wing is influenced by East London's naval and maritime history and is host to the Executive bedrooms and lounge. The Central Tower building in the middle is inspired by Borough Market in central London and hosts majority of the bedroom inventory at the hotel. The West Wing influenced by West London can be used as an exclusive area for large events for over 500 attendees.

Bedrooms

The East Wing is home to executive facilities with 200 Executive Rooms and Suites, along with the Executive Lounge on the 2nd floor. This wing can be isolated from the rest of the hotel, to have a hotel within a hotel. The Admiral Suite (724 sqm/ 7,748 sqf) can be found here with up to 15 small/ flexible breakout rooms such as the GMT Suite, and Mezzanine meeting rooms.

The Central Tower Wing is where most bedrooms, 537 entry-level and deluxe rooms, can be found. On the top floor, Room 23 (200 sqm/ 2,153 sqf) our closed rooftop meeting & event space overlooks the London skyline and can be used as an extra breakout room or for a private event.

The West Wing provides 363 bedrooms that include 2 Queen Bed Superior rooms, King Superior rooms, and a Penthouse Suite. In the West Wing our two twin ballrooms Kensington Suite & Richmond Suite (1,110 sqm/ 11,948 sqf) can be found with their dedicated foyer and main stairs case to the ballrooms. The spaces are flexible and can be broken out into smaller spaces as well.

Restaurant

The ground floor houses the main food & beverage outlets. Such as the hotel's "Bow Bar" right next to the hotel's main entrance in the East Wing. Then the market-style coffee outlet “Tyburn Market” in the Central Tower Wing. Finally, the main guest restaurant is an all-day British brasserie called “Tyburn Kitchen”, serving locally sourced ingredients and can sit up to 320 covers for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or private functions and is located halfway between Central Tower and West Wing.

Meeting space

Meeting rooms are divided into two sections, the East and West Wings, therefore events can be separated into different parts of the hotel. A décor with neutral and light colours across the 35 meeting rooms allows privacy and flexibility within the hotel.

The West Wing can be used as an exclusive area with a dedicated entrance leading to an open foyer and two large ballrooms, each meeting able to host 1,350 guests in theatre style subject to AV and staging. This area of the hotel features a double-height ceiling across both ballrooms and the foyer, allowing lighting and branding opportunities.

It is worth noting that the largest size of guestrooms is located in the West Wing.

In the East Wing is located the third largest ballroom Admiral Suite which can hold up to 800 delegates in theatre style, a smaller meeting room GMT Suite for 200 in the theatre or 3 smaller breakouts for 50, and finally the Mezzanine meeting rooms for up to 12 small breakout rooms.

Being a business hotel, there is a small business centre.

Experience

The hotel has successfully hosted a wide range of Healthcare sector events such as external advisory boards, investigator meetings, regional meetings, product launches, and large internal sales conferences. During the pandemic, the hotel worked closely with the nearby hospital and continues to support the NHS and other healthcare companies.

Fitness

Guests have access to a fitness gym with free weights and machines. There are no additional leisure or spa facilities available.

Compliance Hotspot

This venue is in a destination that has a strong offering for both business and leisure visitors. As a result, people's perceptions of the venue may differ depending on how they use the location for meetings. This venue is located close to but not in the immediate vicinity of a number of the city's tourist attractions. These, in our opinion, have no bearing on the venue's meeting proposition, which, with 35 meeting rooms, is substantial. There is a clear separation between the hotel site and the attractions.

There is a fitness centre but no pool and spa treatments are not available.
