General Overview

Friends House is a conference and events centre, committed to sustainability, offering a selection of 33 meeting rooms and event suites.

Location

Friends House is an easily accessible venue for delegates travelling from across the UK and International destinations. Located in central London, with Euston tube and train station directly opposite, and Warren Street Station also being a short walk from Friends House. King's Cross train and Eurostar’s St Pancras International are 5 minutes by taxi or 15 on foot.

Design

Friend’s House was built in 1924 and is 3 storey, neo-Georgian-style structure designed by renowned Hubert Lidbetter. The building retains many original fixtures and fittings, including panelled and glazed doors, bronze lamps, some panelling, and fitted bookcases, as well as original sash windows; stone garden walls and benches, together with the site’s walls and railings, these features support the notion that this a traditional setting for meetings rather than a venue of historic relevance. On the ground floor is a vegan and vegetarian café that is open to the public and meeting delegates.

Meeting Space

There are 4 rooms on the lower ground, 2 meeting rooms plus The Light on the ground floor, 6 rooms on the first floor and 4 rooms on the second floor. This allows event floors to be privatised. With no restaurant, lunches are served buffet style inside each meeting room, except for the Leslie Forster Suite which has its own catering room, Seed Kitchen. Or, if the event is in The Light the catering would be in the East and/or West corridor and if it’s a larger delegation also Ada Salter Suite and/or Waldo Williams Suite.

All rooms have natural daylight and are fitted with the latest audio-visual equipment. 

Experience

The venue is healthcare aware and has hosted a wide range of healthcare meetings, events and board meetings. The venue is within walking distance to UCLH (University College London Hospital), Harley Street and other medical institutions and associations.

Although located in central London, the tourist sites of London’s West End are 10 minutes away
