General Overview:

The Scandic Continental, Stockholm, is a 4-star business hotel providing a large amount of meeting space and supporting bedrooms.

Location:
Sitting on a main road in the city centre, Stockholm's Central Station is a 3-minute walk from which you can take a direct train to Arlanda airport in 18 minutes. By car, the airport can be reached in 30 minutes. The traing station also takes you to Stockholmsmassen Congress Centre in 18 mins. Surrounding the hotel are commercials business, and some shops and apartments. St. Clara church is a short walk and balances the city location with green spaces. For delegates driving the hotel provides chargeable parking.

Design:
The hotel was built in 2016 with a modern design with extensive use of glass on the 12 floors. The interior continues a modern, executive theme throughout and uses this modern design in its statement atrium which, in our opinion, doesn’t detract from the venue's business positioning. 

In 2023, for the thirteenth year in a row, Scandic is perceived as Sweden's most sustainable brand in the hotel industry by Swedish consumers according to the Sustainable Brand Index and this can be seen in the design and marketing of the venue.

Sleeping Rooms:

392 hotel rooms are split between 12 floors, 45 of which are accessible and 154 in the standard (Collection) category and 106 in the executive class (known as superior rooms by the hotel). Design is delivered with low tones and the use of wood floors, purple and lighter accent colours. The rooms are different to other business hotels with Nordic touches in terms of bespoke furniture and exposed coat rails. The impression is comfortable, with a modest differentiating twist.

Superior rooms are slightly larger than collection rooms with some upgrades to décor, furniture and rooftop views.  In this case, we believe that superior rooms will likely be suitable for groups involving healthcare professionals. There is free Wi-Fi throughout all rooms, as well as the now-standard flat-screen television, safe, iron/board, fully stocked mini-bars (which can be unstocked or removed) and tea and coffee-making facilities
 

Meeting Rooms: 

There are 26 meeting rooms which can be divided into 35 different combinations, split between two floors many with natural daylight. The maximum capacity in the largest meeting room is 350 people. Spaces are modern using a mix of primary and muted colours to provide a light and bright atmosphere.

The hotel is suitable for both seated banqueting dinners as well as networking opportunities during the day and night, with possible access to several private areas.  

Restaurant:

The Market restaurant, with 00 seats on the 1st floor, offers lunch Monday – Friday and breakfast daily in a modern, Nordic, copper glass and wood style, consistent with the rest of the hotel. The menu is light and reflects Nordic and international styles.

On the 8th-floor rooftops, The Capital provides panoramic views of the city, waterways and some of the historic buildings in the city. Internal space and a terrace offer seats for 00 and a total capacity of 00 persons. No food is served in this area only drinks and cocktails. and music is played at night.

The hotel has a lobby bar on the ground floor which follows a similarly modern, design theme to other parts of the hotel.    

Fitness:

There is a small gym located at the hotel.

Scandic as a brand, is widely considered a 4-star business brand and the continental is no exception. Marketing is aligned with this purpose however, The Capital is a rooftop terrace with impressive views and a bar for hotel guests and the public. Music is played at night and during the weekends, and The Capital offers a lively atmosphere. This should be considered when placing HCP meetings at the hotel.

The hotel offers hotel guests bikes for loan to discover the city in a sustainable way and this is visible in marketing within the hotel
