General Overview
The Crowne Plaza Athens is a 5* with a mix of facilities and services for the business and leisure markets. With 14 meeting rooms capable of hosting meetings for up to 420, it has extensive facilities to host large residential meetings.
Location
The hotel is located in a commercial and residential area, approximately 2 km away from city center and close to the Alexandra General Hospital.
The train station of Monastiraki is a short walk away as is the Megaro Moussikis subway station, 2-3 minutes walking distance - 500 m.
The El. Venizelos Athens International Airport is a 30–40-minute drive (depending on traffic), or 30 minutes by metro)
For delegates driving the hotel has parking spaces for up to 50 cars and a pickup/drop-off space for coaches.
For congress attendees, the Megaro Moussikis is a 5 minute walk away.
Design
The exterior has a modern and contemporary façade of concrete and glass and the interior is of a similar styling.
Meeting Space
The hotel's meeting rooms are split between 4 floors, the Mezzanine, Lobby, -1 and -2 level and access can be via the main hotel or side building entrance.
Rooms for 50 boardroom to 420 in theatre style, rooms are multifunctional.
Floors and spaces can be privatised on request.
Bedrooms
The hotel's 193 bedrooms are split across 6 bedroom floors and come with a work desk, armchair, laptop safe / tea/coffee making facilities, complimentary water daily, complimentary wi-fi, iron/ironing board, shoe and tie rack, bathroom amenities, slippers and bathrobes.
Rooms that include a mini-fridge, bathrobes, and Nespresso machines, can be removed if on request.
Restaurant
The hotel operates an alternate main restaurant, with the 74-seat Ambrosia in the lobby area during winter months. And in the summer, the 110-seat Roof Garden on the 7th floor.
Cuisine in both is Mediterranean. Both can be privatised but for dinner meetings involving HCPs, a meeting room is recommended.
During winter months the Roof Garden is offered as a private event space.
The Nectar bar is located in the lobby.
Experience
The hotel has experience in hosting both internal and external HCP meetings. And works with the local healthcare meeting marketplace, including science parks, hospital clusters, universities or healthcare and life science companies.
Fitness
The hotel offers guests a gym on -1 level with free weights and exercise machines. There is a sauna and treatment room on this level as well but is not advertised as a spa.
There is a seasonal, outdoor pool on the 7th floor.
All hotels in Greece must be star rated and most hotels in Athens with large meeting facilities are 5-star. This itself might require additional levels of approval when placing HCP meetings here. As a brand the Crowne Plaza is recognised as one for business.
